Always liked to improve sharpness and contrast in the original jpeg file, I'm not afraid of noise.
I do this because I rather have plenty of info in the original file and, who knows, a photo already finished straight from camera or very workable in black and white, than playing defensive and capture muted and flat ones.

(For those who like to read and test: Natural Mode>+1 contrast>+1 sharpness>+1 saturation>Default Fn2 (highlights/shadows)>Auto Iso 200/1600>dpi 400> (º) measurement>All axis trying to stabilize)

P.S. Tweaking camera's date might come in handy
