Description
Slight Spoilers for the Alliance BfA War Campaign,Β youtu.be/titccgT6QjU?t=878This was probably the most amazing thing I've seen yet in BfA, it came at the end of a quest chain in Vol'dun which was a little... unsettling, since you were killing unarmed archaeologists and stealing supplies from exiled trolls. Still the quest had this spectacular throw-down for an ending. And I swear as I saw it I could hear the old Unreal Tournament announcer shouting, M-M-M-M-MONSTER KILL!
I'd heard theΒ San'layn were getting involved with the Horde in BfA and I gotta say I can't wait to see what happens next... course I gotta grind some rep first

This scene that will remain engraved in my head ... And to say that I hate gnomes in WOW but I have a little pity for him.
For the San'layn, clean and efficient! By the way, I wish they were playable, like that, no more gnomes!

Hear, hear, I'm not particularly keen on the little runts myself, but it seemed an especially gruesome death scene when I first saw it in game
That said playable San'layn would have been an excellant addition to the game, not to mention adding more complications to the hordes internal politics and leading to all sorts of fun story quests

Yeah, that's right, the thing that made me jump out of my seat was when he rocked it hard and splash! To believe that the throwing of
dwarf on Azeroth calls it the throwing of gnomes. I do not like gnomes after trying a gnome on WOW Classic or not, I know what racism is now. LOL
And I also find that it is possible, San'layn in the Horde, although some tell me that without Sylvanas, it will be hard now but it is possible because if the scenario wants it ... in addition, they can still see the leaders of the Horde and ask them to join the Horde while respecting the agreement concluded with Sylvanas. Because personally, I still prefer San'layn as the Undead of the Light (which, for me, it is clearly of the Undead priest).
In fact, in deep thought, I think they know what they will put in race allies for the Undead but we must find the equivalent with the Worgen, who, on my thought, could have given them elves Worgen but ... much more changed.

Poor gnome!
And poor San'layn, too, remaining thirstly after hardly a swallow.

Yes, alas poor Guzzy, we hardly knew ye.
And alas poor San'layn too, all he's had is a little nibble to slake his thirst

spectacular throw-down for an ending
You did that on purpose, didn't you?
But I do agree, it was something to behold to see this happen!

Hehe, maybe
And yeh like I said it's probably the most stunning thing I've seen in BfA yet, well top three at least

Hehe, unfortunately I don't think that's likely, though it would be super cool.
Maybe we'll get lucky and get a rep reward that'll turn your character into a San'Layn for a set time, like that reward in Legion that turns your character into a Night Elf Warden

nasty, one more reason I hope we'll only see the san'layn as antagonists, not as a playable race, as some fans seems to hope

I don't think we'll ever get them as a playable race, we're probably at our limit of Elves atm, but it could be super interesting story-wise if they were to become allied with the Horde.
I mean sure, they are despicable monsters that were once the enemy of all life, but they're intelligent creatures, that can work with others, and if they can/have overthrown their old master, shouldn't they deserve a place in this world? and not just be consigned to be dungeon fodder?
Besides, if they join the Horde the potential storylines could be amazing. Each group not exactly trusting the other, but having to work together for their own survival. It could be like how the Void Elf storyline should have been. They were once members of the Horde, they fought against the Alliance, even probably killed a bunch of them, but they seem to have been welcomed back with open arms.
There should be conflict there, and interesting dramatic story potential, but if there is I haven't seen any of it yet

The Elf-limit has definetly been reached (but I doubt that it won't be breached in the future),
but in regards to them finding their own place instead of being fodder:
1. That particular place doesn't have to be one that makes them playable
2. and I quite doubt that they'd just simply cast off their chains,
especially when it'd make them all the more of a dynamic and dramatic threat, if they managed to take control of the Scourge instead!
As you said, they're intelligent creatures, that intelligence could very well grant them the possibility to perform such a feat.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that they'd off the new Lich King, just that they'd find a way to manipulate/control him.
The Scourge wouldn't necesarily become a greater threat, but one that was under reins of masters that can be bargained with and "appeased".
They'd basically have a protection racket going on. The potential story lines for that scenario is practically endless, no one trusting them (and with good reason) but being forced to or else brave the possible unleashing of the Scourge.

Whilst I do feel terribly sorry for what happened to the poor gnome, that was a spectacular display of sheer raw power!

It was wasn't it?
But now I'm thinking about it, the poor little guy was so outclassed it's not even funny (well shouldn't be funny). I mean he's a teeny tiny little Gnome, versus what's at least a Dungeon Boss.

This shocked me so bad in-game, when I saw the gnome I knew something was gonna happen, but not that. Felt like it was one of the first scenes that was actually gruesome in WoW.Β

Yeh I gotta admit it is pretty hardcore, the way he kinda comes out of nowhere, and just really ganks this little harmless gnome is shocking.
Course I find it so bizarre it's kinda funny to me, so maybe I'm a bit messed up

Oh god. I even remembered this part when I saw the image. He even throwed the little guy so hard into the ground that he exploded into pieces

It was amazing, I was pretty shocked after it happened too, the whole questline was pretty run of the mill, there was a funny bit with an alpaca, but then this happens and... damn
