Description terracotta clay, 12"
Still working on the title.  It's more of a nymph than a dryad.

(Yes, it started at 14".  Part of that is the shrinkage of the clay, and part is that she decided to take a somewhat more leaning attitude....)

Very nice use of anatomy and form! I love the overall concept

Thanks!  It was interesting piece to create.  It also sold pretty quickly, bought by an artist friend of mine.

(It's interesting to think about the anatomy of the plant part of the form.  Wasn't really thinking about that, but it's as important as the accuracy of the figure in creating an overall believable piece.)

Plants overall have very interesting anatomy.  They are where geometry and organic life meet.

Yes, and some pretty high order mathematics buried in those apparently random stems and leaves.

Thank you!  She sold pretty quickly at an outdoor art show I did last weekend!  She is now at home, blossoming in another place, bringing joy to a good friend.

Thank you!  I kind of enjoy how she reaches up with a sense of sweeping motion.

I love how the glazing came out! A simple but effective addition!

Yeah...  I was debating the color, but like how the crimson (or actually, a cinnamon color) works.

Beautifully done and photographed.

Bloom? I think more verb than noun.

hmmm...  point.   maybe, "In bloom"?  pondering.

The unplanned for lean definitely gives her a sense of motion.  Thankfully, she's still pretty stable on the slightly larger base I added.
