Unfired clay (Onyx Crunch) 21""Reaching"
(work-in-progress. Unfired clay, 21". Yes, that just barely fits in my kiln.
)Hunting for a better title, but emerging out of the theme of looking up in hope. Pushing more toward abstracting the figure, which works well with this clay which fires to a pure black.

One of the characteristics of clay is that it is so adaptable to flow. Of course, that also means it has a mind of its own, and a susceptibility to the sometimes rude law of gravity, but we learn to work with that....
