Gemstone Lists
Link 1 This one has pictures and a short description. Be careful; A gem could be more than just the color shown.
Link 2 This one is organized alphabetically. Also, by the name in parenthesis is the type of stone [Ex; Amethyst (Quartz) ]
Link 3 This link organizes by color, which is very quite helpful. Click on the links to know more about the gem.

Well, Sora-Senshi, I usually pick a gem of the combined colors, for example when Ruby and Sapphire make garnet, she is kind of purplish red, combining ruby red, and sapphire blue.

Can somebody help me? I have a few OCs that I want to make fusions for, but one is a Diamond. There aren't many carbon-based gem species, so... Yeah. The gems are: White Diamond, Yellow Topaz, Turquoise, Bismuth, and James (Emerald half-gem). Any ideas?

Try making a journal! More people see it, rather than the comment.

I found kamayojewelry.com/ rather helpful myself! It has lists by color, birthstones (month and zodiac), and names as well as a short description for each stone.

I use this site a lotΒ www.mindat.org/ It has all the info on every mineral there is! It's amazingly helpful!
For example...here's garnet.Β www.mindat.org/min-10272.html
I like it because it gives the chemical formula (great for making fusions and finding compatible gems), lots of pictures, and other info such as how the gemstone got its name.Β
...it also lists places where you can purchase the gemstones in case you wanted to start a collection ^^

Just as a random comment, when it comes to that art tutorial on arms, Rebecca failed to count fairly muscular arms like jasper. SO I do believe the SU style is even more flexible then that.
