Description
This is a picture I took of a cicada shell...Cicada's stay underground for more than a decade only to emerge from the soil to shed their shells and become flying insects that scream like nobody's business. I love 'em.

Ah yeah ... these guys came out to make their noises the year that I came down with Vertigo. It was a surreal experience.

so this is the year of the dreaded 17-year-cicada, right? Well, here in Ohio we were suppoused to get hit pretty hard . . . but . .
I haven't seen a single one!!!!
They have pretty ruby eyes, it makes me sad T_T
