I have to say this is the most fun I have ever had with a meme, and extremely helpful for me in figuring out more about this oc.

Before I go off on some of my own tangents about this meme I want to give proper credit where credit is due. I have been seeing plenty of these age memes floating around deviantArt for years, and while I was always tempted to do one none really sparked too much of my interest. That is until I stumbled upon this Age Meme . I loved the way this artist had gone about formatting the original of the first age meme. Which you can find here:

Following in that artists example I went about building my own meme off of it. Obviously heavily inspired by how they went about theirs, but with some tweaks of my own.

Now then, back to the content!

As explained in the massive blocks of white text I crammed into those boxes Almaca always has been a bit of a handful. Never particularly did as he was told or followed the rules, not because he was a 'bad boy' and a 'rebel'. Merely because his curiosity always got the best of him. He wanted to understand and learn more than what he was presented with. The unusual and new fascinated him.

In the middle of the meme you will see a pair of pathetically sad arrows with the words 'ARC 1' and 'ARC 2' written in there. Now what ever could those mean?
Almaca for a majority of some of my other characters stories is in all essences, a background character. He is the lighthearted boy whom obliviously gets involved with some rather dangerous situations. Due to a massive language barrier he is almost completely silent through a majority of the ARC 1. His people do not communicate the same way as other species do, vocal exclamations of information are difficult for him to comprehend and often lead to misunderstandings between his adoptive second family and himself. ARC 1 follows this said family of his through their mishaps and struggles, mainly focusing on the other members, though throughout it we get to see the progression of this naive extraterrestrial as he grows into a young man.

During ARC 2 is when the main portion of Almaca's story begins, his return home.

One of the things about Alma that does make him stand out from my other oc's is the simple fact that he is NOT a killer. He does not wish to kill, and he does not think of it. Sure he has roughed people up in the past, but he isn't the type to just rip someones throat out due to an disagreement. Up until his homecoming, he had never taken a life. If you notice in the 19 yr old panel there is some kind of liquid dripping through his fingers, if you haven't gotten where this is going already, its blood. During the first few days of his return to his planet, the newly hostile landscape twists his intentions, and in order to save a friend, in order to protect someone precious to him, he is forced to take a life. Even with the situation this action weighs heavily on his mind. Who was he to have the right to end another beings existence..?

19 was most definitely his time of doubt and hesitance, consistently questioning himself at every turn and wondering if he was making the right choices or not.

and at last we get to age 25 Alma, lookie at my babu all grown up!

I loved drawing the progression of his character in these images, from the ignorant wonder eyed child to the stumbling uncertain young adult, to finally the settled into his position and war hardened adult. And not sure if anyone notices this, but Almaca actually has a bit of bioluminescence going on there! It isn't much, and it tends to show more in the darker areas but he does have some of that going on. Just another fun fact about this oc~
