Part of the OC asks journal I have been doing for ages and updating only so often. I'll get through them all at some point!Honestly though, some of the customers I have to deal with in the restaurant business are intolerable. I mean I understand you've been waiting for your food, but you know I don't cook the food. Yelling at me really isn't going to make it come out to you any faster except ruin both of our days.
I think sometimes people forget that even if someone's wearing a uniform, they are still a person trying to get by like everyone else. Not some mindless robot that can be abused in which ever way they please.
What do you guys think?

Well tea I'm not gonna lie to you, I am that crabby customer.
I went to Denny's once SMACK-DAP when it opened (remember that) and I sit down
at a little booth near a window. A waitress comes and says what every waitress says
"So what would you like today ma'am?" and I was at the moment a rather happy customer.
I told her "Pancakes, a side of grits and bacon please." she writes it down and says "It'll be done
soon." Now I think Pancakes, grits, and 2 pieces of bacon is pretty simple but I know making
pancakes isn't a 3 seconds thing. I wait...and I wait...and I wait.
So far: 2 couples, 1 old lady, and 1 young man has joined me in my little waiting game. So far my
little waiting game has stretched to an hour. Now I'm sure you kept in mind that I came in ONCE it OPENED and I still don't have my simple plate. I may not be eating but oh ho ho looks like old lady's eating and looky there young man is eat and unless I've been struck by stupid it looks like 1 of the couples are eating. By this time I'm at that point of anger that is "Denial" I actually asked everybody
if I was really there...have I really been sitting here and they all replied "Yeah you were here before I even got here." one of the lovely women told me "geez you plate taking a while" truthfully I was cranky by now and was prepped to say 'tell me something I don't know' but just because I'm angry with Denny's doesn't mean I'm angry at the world.
I took action. I saw the waitress serving one more table and I lost my top. I shouted "HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET SOME FOOD AROUND HERE?! I paid like everyone else, CAN I EAT?!" She scurried over to my table and said " Ma'am I'm - " nope. I was not about to talk to here I need someone a little higher "Ma'am please go and get the manager." now to cut this short I ate and received a heavy discount and I never went back to that Denny's.

Oh jeeeeeeez, well see that's kind of understandable. sounds like you were pretty patient an then still didn't receive what you ordered.
What I mainly spoke about with this picture was like, where I work I handle the to-go orders. The people that come in and suddenly want to add more to their pizza. Not the end of the world, unless its already made. But also, we make everything where I work. EVERYTHING. Salad dressing all of that, not to mention we use organic produce and meats. So in order to make up for that expense we do end up a little pricey. And there are small charges for toppings, cause i mean, this isn't bloody subway.
I cannot tell you, how many people have pitched a fit, screaming in my face. Because I had to charge them a extra 1.50 for a topping. Which is the restaurants policy, but also not under my control. It clearly states on our menu, website, to go menu, and I even tell them. But they still get up tight over it.

Screaming customer's are usually the one's that talk before they read, well more of scream before they read. Busting their top when they're the one in the wrong.
I'm surprised you guys haven't made a motto of "Take it or Leave it -_-" for
customer's like those.

I just look at those people and get irritated. They're telling at the waiter/waitress-shouting or growling, and it's just obnoxious

Oh yeah I know the feeling. Got a great story for you.
I worked at a zoo and one of the things that was always an issue was telling a child if they were doing something unsafe. This includes climbing on the fake rocks right next to the "no climbing on rocks" sign, or chasing the geese around.
Well one time I saw a young girl walking across the concrete "fence" thing that surrounded the fountain/pelican exhibit. On the other side of that fence thing was a 6 foot drop, and for her size she could have easily broken a leg or an arm if she'd fallen. I rushed over and said (exactly as politely as I was supposed to), "Hun I need you to get down from there. Its very dangerous and we don't want you falling."
The girl hustled down, and I turned around to her mom and said "Ma'am I need to ask you to keep an eye on your child. The Zoo doesn't allow kids to be climbing on the architecture." The woman responds, "I know," I thought she'd apologize, since she'd been on her phone and it could have been an honest mistake, kids will be kids, but then she glares at me, "Don't you @#$% Tell me how to raise my kid. Don't you be tellin her what to do neither." I'm in shock because frankly her child could have been injured, and the woman storms past me pushing a stroller with another little girl, and roughly grabs the girl's arm and drags her away from me, cussing the whole way out of earshot.
o-o I'm just thinking... "Keeping your kid safe is my f***ing job! I'm on the friggen Ground's Crew that handles FLIPPING SAFTEY CRAP!!! I CLEAN UP THE GARBAGE THAT YOUR BRAT DROPS ON THE GROUND AND JUST KEPT HER FROM BREAKING HER LEG!! AND YOU'RE CUSSING ME OUT?! Wow... how rude...
Another time I saw a kid swinging a stick at a goose, which is a big no no. So I hurry over and from behind me I hear his father yelling "GO GO GET IT!"
Kids aren't the problem... Bad parents are the problems...

those kind of people need to be retaught or just plain taught how to be a parent.
Cause it's really not cool to do that kind of thing, I mean from your story it sees that you were trying to keep their kid SAFE. They would of just let them prance around? Welp sorry lady, have fun when your toddler falls in the lions pit or something.
