I never thought any of the animals were children. It might be because I'm a furry and they seem like "people" to me. Kids don't pay mortgages or set town ordinances either so you could even say the same thing about the humans you play as. They're chibi. some people might not understand that term unless they're familiar with more anime and games. I don't think you have to worry about those people though. Good colors here btw.
