Meet the new D&D party! Nuth and Team Jailbird are taking a well-earned rest after defeating the Big Bad of their campaign, and now it's time for a new set of characters to take the stage as our DM becomes a player and our Ranger's player becomes the DM!

....At some point, I'll post the portraits for Party 1 (a.k.a. Team Jailbird), but because I count in a weird order, 2 comes first.

So, introductions!

Himo: A criminal! He's our buff, beefy crime boy. Brash, scowling 24/7 (even when he likes you). Responds to discomfort by never seeming to be able to keep his hand away from his sword pommel. “Rescued” a person falling off a cliff by using Lightning Lure, only to both electrocute him and fail to grab his hand…so he fell anyway. Hasn’t seen his brother in years, is both furious and relieved upon reuniting at last. Responds to Gorstag’s name change with a long, low ‘what the fuuuuuuuuuck’ every time he refers to himself as Ying.
Gorstag/Ying: Exiled from his hometown, but he’s not telling his brother that - what Himo doesn’t know can’t hurt him, right? Will follow that fox wherever it leads him, loves that fox to pieces. Doesn’t eat meat if he can help it, but is too polite to openly decline. Unsure exactly how to social interaction after years of living in the wild, but does his best.
Julian: Eccentric botanist with an accidentally-created new species of magibotanical creature in his backpack - which he’s now pretending he’s not procrastinating on taking back to university. What if they dissect Maximillian?? He’s a conflict-avoidant softboy with a tendency to cast aside self-preservation instincts in favour of ooh how FASCINATING!! Needed to be bodily yanked back by the shirtcollar by Himo to stop him touching a mysterious magic rock For Science. Too bi to function. Favourite spell: Sleep.
Heather: Looks and sounds like she could crush your entire skull but she’s a sweetheart who quite literally would not hurt a fly. She is far more likely to hurt you for trying to hurt a fly. (Or because she moved too quickly around you - she struggles to gauge her own strength.) The daughter of a noble who dealt with her strict upbringing with the tried and tested method of ‘rebellion-bang an orc’…and didn’t account for what can happen as a result: pregnancy, half-orc babies, and being immediately disowned. What she’s inherited is a whole lot of baggage and insecurity about how people might treat her. There’s a reason she ran off to live in the woods, after all.
