More Swallowtail :>! I still need to figure out some personality for her, but I think that so far she is really kind and sweet, and gets easily scared. She dislikes loud noises because they hurt her ears. BTW she collects butterflies ALIVE because she doesn't want to harm them <3Finnedyrs belong to griffsnuff

Swallowtail was taking a swim in the river near her home. She loved the feeling of the cool water running across her fin.

Semper swam through the river, since was a great day for one. As she swam along the bottom, white feet came into view. Semper popped her head out of the water.
"Hi!" she yelled.
Semper loved meeting new Finnedyrs, so why not make new friends?

Swallowtail squeaked and covered her ears while still keeping herself above the water with her hind legs. She had big ears and they were sensitive, so she would get scared by loud noises.

"Oh! Sorry, did I scare you?" said Semper as she swam toward the stranger. Her ears flopped back down beside her head as she stopped.
"Um.. Hi, I'm Sempervirent. Bu-But you can call me Semper," she said, trying not to make things more awkward. Semper smiled and adjusted her pine needle necklace.

Swallowtail opened one of her eyes and saw Semper. "O-oh." She whispered. She put her paws back into the water and smiled nervously "M-my name is Swallowtail. You are pretty loud." She giggled nervously.

Semper giggled as well.
"Oh, um, sorry 'bout that. I just like meeting new Finnedyrs," she said.
She jumped onto a nearby rock and sat down, with her floppy ears dripping wet from the river.
"Why don't we chat for awhile?" Semper asked.

Swallowtail swam over to the rock and put her paws on it to keep from going downstream. "Oh ok, I have never had a friend. What do you like to do?" Swallowtail gave a sweet smile.

"Well.. I like collecting pine needles," Semper lifted up the bunch of pine needles on her necklace.
"and I live at the western tip of Little Lake."
She paused for a moment and thought.
"I LOVE shrimp and seaweed," Semper continued.
"Oh! And I'm a fast swimmer because of my odd fin shape!"

Swallowtail giggled. "Well, I live close to here. In the tropical forest, bit right near the golden plains. It's not too far from hear!" Swallowtail laughed a bit. "Oh I suppose I should tell you what things I like. Well I like to collect butterflies. I made myself my own net out of sticks and vines. I also made a kind of cage out of sticks to keep all of them in too! It took me a long time. I am not sure of my favorite food yet."

"Ooh!" said Semper. "Oh, and if you were wondering why I'm so far from home, it's because I was visiting my friend Plumis. She lives over by the volcano," she looked into the distance toward where she came from.

"Well.. She's very competitive, sneaky, yet warmhearted," explained Semper.
She looked into the river and spotted a fish swimming downstream.
"Watch this," Semper said quietly. She waited for the fish for a few seconds, then dived into the river. A few more seconds later Semper popped back up with a rainbow trout in her mouth.
"Bon appetite!" she said happily.

Swallowtail giggled. "I love rainbow trout! It's so pretty!"

Semper put the trout on top on the rock and took a bite out of the tail.
"Mmm!" she mumbled with fish in her mouth. Semper swallowed and nudged the rest of it over to Swallowtail.
"Care for some?" she asked.

Swallowtail nodded shyly. She nibbled on the middle of the fish.

"So what were you doing here in the first place?" Semper asked.
She stretched out on the rock and then went back to sitting.

"I was just taking a swim. I love swimming, and it's good for me!" Swallowtail said.

"I see!" Semper replied. "So do you want to do anything besides talk?"
She jumped into the grass and looked at Swallowtail.

"Well, we could race, either in the water or in the grass!"

"I wouldn't want to do that if I were you..." Semper said with a grin. Her main ability was speed, in both water and land.
"But if you really want to, we can swim."

"We don't have to race. We could just have fun swimming! Is that what you want to do?"

Semper dived into the river.

Swallowtail let go of the rock and looked under water.

Semper swam up to the surface.
"Well? Are you coming in the water?" she asked.

"Oh! I didn't see you there," she laughed.

"Do we have to go deep underwater? I don't like going to far down, it gets really dark..."

"No, we don't have to," Semper said. She did a flip underwater and looked back at Swallowtail.
"We can just swim around."

"Ok that's good, I like doing that! Watch this!" Swallowtail spit some water in the air and dove to catch it in her mouth.

Semper laughed and tried it as well. She got it a little, but not really.
"When did you learn how to do that?"

"I taught myself!" She giggled. "You want me to teach you?"

Semper thought for a second.
"Eh, sure why not."

"Ok, well, what you gotta do is shoot the water not so far away from you. Then, you have to practice jumping and twisting to be on your back to catch the water. I practice that by just jumping and twisting to get on your back in the water."

"Alright, let me try now..."
Semper did as Swallowtail said, and did it correctly.
"Like that?"

Swallowtail beamed "Perfect! Now try it again, all together!"

She tried it and did it correctly again.
"I think I've got it down pretty well!" Semper smiled.

Swallowtail giggled. "You may even be better than me!"

"Ha,I don't think so," she replied. "But can you do this..."
Semper tossed a pebble high into the air, and spit water at it as it came down.

Swallowtail grabbed a pebble and tried to toss it but swallowed it by accident. "Oh that didn't feel so good..."

Semper swam over to Swallowtail.
"Oh dear, are you okay?" she asked.

Swallowtail coughed a bit and winced but then smiled "Yeah I should be good."

"What do you want to do now?" Semper asked. "The sun is starting to set, and maybe I should get back to the Pine Forest."
