Yikes. Poor you. I got lucky, when my cousin moved in with us [my mom, my grandmother, and I], she claimed she needed internet for school. So, yea. Dial-up went bye-bye. :]

At our place it was choice of losing the pay TV or getting the proper ADSL internet. The choice was obvious really lol

Yea, money is generally a big constraint when it comes to luxuries like that, which is why I wasn't exactly care for all of my cousin's "needs". Dial-up worked fine for my homework. Spoiled, stuck-up brat.

The thing is I didn't even watch the Pay TV as it was (apart from the occasional wrestling show) and it seemed pointless. Especially when I was starting Uni at the time too
