So I started this over a year ago. Then things like Photoshop crashing, or the power going out, etc. kept happening, until I just got sick of losing and redoing shit over and over, and pushed this drawing aside. Well, I got distracted from working on page 32, and picked this back up. Of course my horrible luck came back, and my computer crashed at least twice this time around to. Then I intended to post this here yesterday, aaaaand well, my cheapo dinosaur finally gave out for good, RIP 2009 eMachine
Anyway, about the drawing itself. Magdalena, Ivory and Aries's batshit-old-hag of a grandmother, about 40 years ago. Magdalena didn't age well, lol XP. She wasn't always an old hag, but she was always batshit. Like Ivory, Magdalena often conjures up the spirits of dead animals, she's the one who taught Ivory; but unlike with Ivory, it's not a cute little past time for her, she's cruel and manipulative towards all things living or dead.

Really digging the composition here, as well as the details. The crow flat out skewered on that tree trunk is a nice detail, showing how fast Magdalena was.
Also, I think this is one of the rare wilderness pictures that hasn't got buildings in the background, So I'm assuming Mags truly did live very isolated?

Yes, she lives out in some isolated swampy backwoods area. Both Aries and Ivory are from around there, as well as their parents. Hence why they're a bit different from most the others, they still retain a lot characteristics tied to their upbringing; and in Ivory's case, she's only recently left, and is barely familiar with the outside world.

How do they differ from the 'city' canids? Just by fashion or do they have different manners?

More or less just in the ways one would be different in any circumstance of comparing living in a populated area vs. living in the isolated wilderness. Their way of living is more closely tied to nature, they're used to having to either hunt or raise their own food, make most things they need themselves, aren't as familiar with the outside world/society, etc.
