Description
Listen to meand I'll spin you a tale
of two fatal lovers.
Well as you can see
that this cannot be
as cupid impatiently hovers.
A balloon for sale
or plant of nail
their embrace unable to smother.

Hahahaa, even more ironic, I was about to use "star-crossed lovers" in the lil' poem.
Well the cactus seems happy with it... not the balloon so much.

Ahahah oh wow. hah
eh..but..That doesn't make much sense.. Shouldn't the balloon be happy?

Oh we're such nerds quoting Romeo and Juliet prologues and the like, soon quotes Mercutio's "Old Hare Hoar" will dot these digital communications.
Oh yea I forgot to meantion that that the cactus doesn't have needles because it's implied, it's a common stereotype directed to these needle laced "plants" even those left unguarded to those life treasures within.

Ahahahah! That'd be interesting. XD
So mr/ms. Cactus has needles then? So why is it happy about keeping its love away?

No kidding!
Perhaps he/she... it is ignorant or unwary of the utter consequence should the two remain in such proximity.

Ahaha
Perhaps. But how could he/she remain unaware of such circumstances when Mr/Ms Balloon's life is involved?

Ignorance, or he/she is just so blinded by love to remain unwary.

true... How bout drinking chemicals that react violently with each other? Similar, but not quite ya know..

Onaperd In reply to korimari [2008-10-18 03:10:55 +0000 UTC]
Well you also have to take into consideration the gastric acids of the stomach, which for some reason always seems to cease reactions. You might instead die of poisoning than explosion.

yupo
Well, Mr/Ms Cactus is protected by ignorance at the moment, but he/she is bound to realize soon enough.. As Mr/Ms Cactus reaches out towards Mr/Ms Balloon he/she would eventually see the problem. The slightest touch and POP, there goes poor Mr/Ms Balloon. T T So saaad

HAH!! Everyone knows cactus's don't reach, they don't have any fingers, they gravitate toward the heavens!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
korimari In reply to Onaperd [2008-10-18 02:45:40 +0000 UTC]
What if the heavens aren't above, towards the sky? How would you know where the heavens are, eh? Also, I meant emotionally/mentally and physically.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Onaperd In reply to korimari [2008-10-18 02:54:47 +0000 UTC]
Heavens? Not above? that doesn't make that much sense! If they aren't above then they'd be below, but eventually below would become above due to the spherical nature of the world. So the heavens could be below, but inevitably they'd be above, less they somehow take residence in the molten core of solid iron and nickle.
Emotionally AND physically eh? Well it's bound to happen, but we've both failed to realize that the balloon has no way at remaining in the same place.

korimari In reply to Onaperd [2008-10-18 02:59:57 +0000 UTC]
Or it could just not exist.
Wait a sec. The balloon would eventually die anyway.. It'll deflate until it has no more life. Unless it's like that one balloon I got from a pep rally that lasted for like, 6 months. Plus, the wind might blow Mr/Ms Balloon into Mr/Ms Cactus anyway! Besides that, how did the cactus get to know the balloon well enough, if he/she has no way of staying?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Onaperd In reply to korimari [2008-10-18 03:08:23 +0000 UTC]
...not... exist... WHY that's revolutionary! albeit a bit flawed, you see, being the kind of person who oh so desires to remain out of religious debates, remains with a rather secular diction, referring only to religious connotations to fit a character or mood in a story, such as Cockaigne, or however you spell that, instead I was referring to the cosmos that surrounds us, those stars that dot them, and the minuscule trillions upon trillions of theorized planets, each with the ability to support life, or not.
That is true, but in actuality, rubber balloons cannot deflate entirely without aid for the reason is tiny holes that open up when stretched. If the rubber however were to go slack then the holes would seal and the pressure would equalize.

korimari In reply to Onaperd [2008-10-18 03:35:39 +0000 UTC]
Oh I see. Ah..the cosmos..
True, but to lose the ability to fly (if it was inflated by He like Mr/Ms Balloon seems to be..hope it's not H) and to live the way a slack balloon would is just..
