Recently bought the entire Resistance series.
Very good games, actually, even though there's a fair difference in controls and gameplay between the first and second game. Among others: different buttons for different actions. Weapon switching, melee, secondary fire have new buttons. Ironsight aiming no longer sticks, so you have to hold down L1. Crouching now sticks, so you no longer have to hold down R2 - probably because you can now run by holding down R2.
They also removed the healthbar, instead making you rely on moving between cover in combat, avoiding enemy fire to regenerate health. I got used to it, yeah, but I'd still like to know how close I am to death.
I've always been a fan of RTS games, although newer releases have disappointed me. Examples: Red Alert 3 and Tiberian Twilight were both epic disappointments, let alone epic failures.
Games such as C&C: Generals, Red Alert 2, the Dawn of War franchise and similar games are the ones I like.
Also, several games by Valve. Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal.
Mind you, I've actually played various CoD games, and they just aren't good.
Battlefield hasn't been any good since Battlefield 2, and the 1942 games are still the best in the series.

I've played Portal, but only about once or twice.
I mostly play any first person shooter, some RPGs, and other various games.
Basically, you give me a game, a controller, and some Monster, and I'll play anything xD

DOOM is, despite its age and poor graphics, one of the best shooters of all time.
It's from a time long past when players moved around as if on rocket skates and could carry 8 heavy weapons without being slowed down, battling demons and punching enemies to death with their bare hands.
You should google it.
DOOM can quickly be downloaded through torrent, it's not a very large game.

It's just you, a lot of cool weapons and a ton of enemies between you and where you need to be.
It's the kind of game where you are doing it wrong if more than one minute passes without killing anything.
Speaking of cool weapons, DOOM has a gun called The BFG (Big Fucking Gun).
Painkiller is a lot more creative with its weapons, though. You get a weapon that nails enemies to walls with stakes and a gun that shoots giant shurikens and lightning.

I just looked it up on Cdon.com, and I found it for 37 Danish crowns.
