The door to Levi's room closed with a bang.You marched towards him. Your fists closed tightly, knuckles almost turning white."When are you going to tell me, Levi?"

"Tell you what?!" He said calmly, adjusting the straps on his body.

Your voice was getting louder but you didn't care. You were furious. You didn't want to be left out. "Tell me that you're going into an expedition. Today! I just heard about it from a cadet!"

"And what?! You'll beg to let you come with us? You're not a soldier, woman. You'll get killed in an instant." He snapped."Besides, I don't remember having an obligation to tell you everything."

Yes, you were not a soldier. You were only a volunteer in the Survey Corps - filing paperworks, helping Hange with her experiments - but you were with them for a long time. You even learned how to use a 3DMG. Your combat skills may be lacking and what Levi said was rational. You could be killed if you went on field. But your anger got the best of you. You actually felt betrayed. You stomped out of Levi's room, slamming the door behind you.

After your head had cooled off, you realized that you might be overreacting. You went to search for Levi, only to find out that they had left already. You'll just apologize to him when he comes back.

The smell of tea woke you up from your nap. You must have fallen asleep on your desk while doing some paperwork. With your eyes still closed, you smiled. You were not sure though if it’s from the sweet, light, soothing fragrance of the tea or because he had returned. You were not really a big fan of tea, until you tasted his, of course.

“You looked stressed.”

“You’re seeing things, Levi.” You said not even bothering to look up at the man. Your eyes still glued on the book at your hand.

“Drink this.” He put the teacup down on your desk.

“What’s that?” you asked, peeking at the cup “Oh, tea. No, thank you. Last time Hange made me tea, it tasted like dirt.”

“This doesn’t.” He pushed the cup towards you.“Drink.”

“Nope.”

“Drink or I will kick your ass.” His voice clearly showed annoyance.

“Fine, fine. Geez. Just because you’re corporal now, doesn’t mean you get to boss me around.” You put the book aside and took a sip of the tea.“This actually tastes good.”

You couldn’t forget the look on his face that day. He looked contented, happy. To think that you drinking tea would make the lines on his face look softer, more relaxed. You promised yourself that you would always accompany him for tea time.

You sat up, stretching your neck and arms a little for they felt numb from the previous position you were in. As you expected, a hot cup of tea was in your desk. Levi was sitting on the chair in front of you, his chin resting on his knuckles, gray eyes fixated on you.

“Were you watching me sleep, Corporal?” you jested, sipping the tea, its calming effect washing over you.

“Your face looks a little less stupid when you’re sleeping.” He answered with a smug look on his face, gaze turning away from you.

“I’m gonna go ahead and take that as a compliment.”

There was a long silence after that. Not the awkward silence when you’re with a person you just met and you have nothing to talk about. The silence you two shared was different – it was comforting for the both of you. The smell of tea in the air, the presence of each other’s company... Everything was perfect, until you remembered what happened this morning.

You put your teacup down; a soft thunk was heard as it hit your wooden desk. You cleared your throat, wanting to gain his attention. You immediately regretted your actions because the moment his eyes fell on you, you felt nervous, your hand went to scratch an imaginary itch at the back of your neck. ”I... want to apologize for my outburst this morning. I wasn’t thinking straight. I let my emotions get to me. I’m sorry.”

“Forgiven,” he mumbled.

You stared at him, wide-eyed. “Wait, that’s it? No ‘clean my room for a month’ punishment or something?”

He looked like he was thinking for a while.”Well then, you’ll have to make your own tea, brat.”

“But my tea tastes no good compared to yours,” you whined.

“You can’t possibly clean my room. Just look at the mess you have here.” He stated, his eyes on the floor.

You followed his eyes. The papers you were arranging earlier were on the floor, probably, carried off by the wind from the open window. You sighed, “Fine. Guess I’ll just have to drink dirt for a month, huh?”

For a short moment, you saw something in his eyes, something akin to sadness. “You should probably go see Erwin. He needs some of those files.”

Judging from the emptiness in his voice, you knew what files he was talking about. Right, they were in an expedition. Erwin’s going to need the files. You felt bad for the man, being the harbinger of sad news to the families of those who had fallen. You stood up, a paper and pen clutched to your hand. “I’ll be quick. Stay here. I still want to negotiate about that punishment.”

You knocked on the Commander’s door and upon hearing his approval, you entered.

He looked up at you. His face looked tired, his cerulean eyes dull. “I was just going to get you, [Name].”

Putting the paper on his desk, a pen on your hand, you waited for him to give you the names.

“I’m sorry, [Name].”

Why was he apologizing to you? Did Levi tell him about your ‘talk’ this morning? You gave him a confused look.

“Levi...” He started. But the next words that came out from his mouth were a blur to you. How could that be possible? He’s Humanity’s Strongest Soldier. How can he be...?

All you could hear was a sharp ringing in your head, so intense it hurt. You dashed out of the commander’s room. You heard him called your name but you ignored him completely. You didn’t understand what was happening. You ran passed the corridor, bumping some people along the way. But you didn’t care, all you care about was to get into your room and see Levi seated on your chair with his usual grim look, asking what took you so long.

You opened the door to your room. The sun’s setting splashed hues of orange and red in your walls. Impossible. You were just talking to Levi a while ago. He was here. He made you tea. He had forgiven you for the little outburst you had this morning. He...

He told you to make your own tea

You walked over to your desk, tears streaming down your face, your heart clenching in pain. The papers that were previously lying on the ground were stacked neatly, a single tea cup beside it. You reached for the teacup, raising it to your lips.

The tea had grown cold but your tears hadn’t.
