Description
- Both are the tenth in a lineage of legendary Sci-Fi Heroes (The Doctors/The Hesei Kamen Riders). The titles they receive as a result of this make note of this (The Tenth Doctor/Kamen Rider Decade)
- Both belong to a long-running sci-fi series around a simular time (Kamen Rider/Doctor Who) with immense cultural value within a certain country (Japan/The UK) and are considered fan favorites within it's second, post-cancellation iteration {To clear this up, while Decade is not considered the indisputable number one Rider in the same way Ten is to the Doctors, he was ranked the sixth most popular in the NHK's latest popularity polls. Whilst to some that's already enough to qualify him as a "fan-favorite", it's especially notable because nearly every rider above him had their respective series listed in the top 5 of the production ranking, whereas Decade's is listed in the bottom five}
- Both travel to different worlds and times by using specific dimensional pathways (The Time Stream and The Aurora Curtain), with their series focuses upon them wandering to different times/dimensions and attempting to resolve the issues that plague them
- Both have a specific role within their universes (Kamen Rider/Time Lord)
- They are both associated with an iconic vehicle that is traditionally used by those within their occupation (Decade's Rider Machine/The Doctor's TARDIS)
- Both have the ability to instantly fit in into whatever new world they've travelled to (Decade shifting into matching attire and possessions in accordance to the new dimension he's travelled to/The Doctors Physic Paper displaying exactly what he needs it to, specifically in matters where he must convince those around him of his authority/authenticity)
- They are considered "The Ace", exceptionally talented and wildly effective in dangerous situations
- Both typically keep the companionship of a young woman throughout their travels (Natsumi Hikari/Rose Tyler)
- Both are notably eccentric and quirky, notable for their, at times, bizarre mannerisms with them both having a specific gag that involves them evoking a culture different from their native one (Decade's "American Jokes"/"Allons-y")
- They also have contrasting gags relating to the attribution of a specific colour (Decade constantly insisting that his armour is magenta rather than pink/The Doctor wishing he had regenerated into a Ginger)
- However, both have dark pasts, which leads to both developing nastier, darker qualities with them being hypocritical and self-righteous, a fact that is typical attributed to the contrasting memory issues that plague both of them {Whilst The Doctor retains immense trauma from his actions within the Last Great Time War, Decade is amnesiac, and struggles to maintain a distinct sense of self as a result}
- They are still both deeply heroic at heart, and have a pathological desire to save any human they come across, no matter the danger
- Both have dreaded titles within their story (The Destroyer of Worlds/The Time Lord Victorious), and have, at differing times, let their darkness consume them, transforming them into maniacal, inter-dimensional dictators (Decade becoming the Great Leader of Dai-Shocker/The Doctor fully claiming the title of the Time Lord Victorious and taking control of the Victis Fleet)
- Both have an immense significance to an all-encompassing war (The Last Great Time War/Rider War), wherein they massacred their own people in an attempt to save the universe (The Doctor seemingly genociding Gallifrey/Decade massacring the remaining Kamen Riders)
- Both of these events was marked by both taking a unique form (Violent Emotion Decade/The War Doctor)
- However, while this takes a significant toll on them (The Doctor suffering from harrowing PTSD/Decade sacrificing himself to end the war), the casualties of these murders end up averted in the end (The Doctors in fact sealing away Gallifrey/Decade using Natsumi as a link to resurrect the Riders) with This war has a significant relation to their respective titles (Decade embracing his role as The Destroyer of Worlds in order to destroy the other Riders/The Doctor taking the Time Lord Victorious title after realizing the power he holds being the "winner" of the Time War)
- Both are connected to a numerical prophecy ("He will knock four times"/Decade being the fated destroyer of the Nine Worlds)
- Both also have a role in a crossover event that involves their specific, bubbly successor (Zi-O/The Eleventh Doctor)
