Description My very first attempt at Steampunking a toy gun! Thought I would first test on a $2 water pistol. It came out a little different than intended but still worked out in the end.

Any suggestions are welcomed! I was thinking of stenciling the name or some numbers on the canisters, but also thought it may be a little overkill.

Will get started on the next!

Great job for your first gun! The only suggestion I would make for your next gun is to use more colors than silver. Pick a shape on the gun that you like and paint it gold or bronze or copper. It really makes a difference when the whole gun isn't the same color. Otherwise, as far as a blood transfusion device, you pretty much nailed it. Stencils may be overkill, but you could add hospital or medical icons and the model number and leave it at two or three decals.

Yeah I really feel like it was missing more colour, I couldn't really figure out what else I could do to it ... also, I only had silver

Nice work.

If you're going to do stencilling i'd keep it minimal & simple. Just keep it to (weathered) stencilled writing of contents of cannisters, such as "AB+" on the blood cannister & "CO2" on the blue one. Maybe a small cast medical symbol on either side of the main body, or small white circle with a red cross in it? I think my own sense of humour would make me write "for medical use only" in the indentation above the barrel.

Haha yeah thanks I think adding subtle silly labels that look legit would add that little bit extra.

Totally agree with LoneGunman31 ... this is an amazing first attempt. I made a water gun into an injector gun and replaced the water bottle with a clear bottle with red food dye sloshing around inside, worked a treat! Not that you need that given the great job you did on the bottle sections and everything else. Looking forward to your future projects!

Yea I was looking for clear glass bottles to replace the plastic ones but couldn't find the right size, maybe next time. Red food dye in them sounds great! Will definitely keep that in mind. Just prepping a Nerf Spectre now!

You say this is your very first attempt?!? Wow, I can't wait to see you really get rolling on these things, this is already fantastic. Great color choices and execution.
