Shaun sighed.

Annoying. He didn't know any word besides that to describe Desmond at the moment. Every few minutes he could hear the assassin cursing and swearing. His target was most likely the TV, not some kind of asshole in the past. The problem he had wasn't one Ezio or Altair could solve, neither could Leonardo and Malik.

"Come on now, Desmond! Is it really that hard?!"

He had enough. He had to admit… normally he would be able to stand Desmond for a few hours – there wasn't anything else to do about him but ignore him. But right now it seemed to be an exception. If he could, he would have hit Desmond already…

Muttering some curses under his breath, he stood up and switched off the monitor of his pc. The data would be able to wait a few minutes… They had something like free time – which normally was a word Lucy had never heard before – until the girls would be back from their little shopping trip to the city. Which gave them about seven more hours.

They were going to take their time, that was for sure…

Slowly he went up the few steps to get to the couch with the TV in front of it.

They had returned to their first hideout after traveling all over Europe. Vidic wouldn't even think about them going back there.

Shaun shook his head at the scenario in front of him.

Desmond was sprawled over the couch, controller in his hand, eyes almost sticking to the screen. It looked as he was even more focused than in most of the battles he fought. Shaun could have pretty much made a bet that it would only take some odd or at least unusual noise for him to use his eagle vision. Like he was fighting against a real enemy.

And not some creatures which were not to identify as any existing animal on earth or elsewhere.

"Don't use ghost against dark… It's the other way 'round, Des…"

The assassin stared at Shaun, eyes wide. He ignored the screen for a few moments – until one of his monsters cried out and fainted. Desmond watched the screen in shock as he got the famous "Game Over"-message. He groaned, burying his face in the pillows.

"See, told ya. Scyther would have been better than Haunter..."

"Hastings…" Desmond began, looking at the historian once again, eyes narrowed, "For heaven's sake, please tell me: Why the heck do you know how to play POKEMON?!"

He simply had to laugh at Desmond's face. He looked more than just a bit stunned.
Ignoring Desmond, who had really gotten curious now, he sat on the couch as good as he could. Which was hard with Desmond sprawled all over it. In the end he was almost sitting on top of Desmond, not that he was caring.

He took the controller from the assassin and looked at it.

"Hm… only used to computer keyboards, but this will have to do, I'm afraid…" he murmured, words not meant for Desmond.

Then he started playing while Desmond just watched, mouth agape in awe.
"Shaun, why the fuck do you exactly know what to do?! That's… scary…"

He chuckled, handing the controller over to Desmond. He stood up, placing his glasses onto the desk in front of him in the process, stretching thoroughly. He looked at the clock. It was no use without the glasses… but he didn't want to wear them for another second, his eyes hurting as he wasn't used to all that color on the screen.

"I hacked one of the games some years ago… I was bored… And I wanted to make it harder…"

"Harder? I'm being beaten to a pulp already… Why make it harder?" Desmond whined, clearly frustrated. He himself didn't really know if it was because Shaun was better than him even in playing games, or simply because Shaun could change games such as this like he wanted to.

"Hm…"

Shaun turned, smirking at Desmond. The assassin knew that the historian didn't see him as clearly as he wanted to.

"Don't worry, Desmond, you won't have to play it… I'm highly doubting that you would be able to finish a game that wasn't made for little children anyway…"
He could hear Desmond growling.

"And I'm doubting that you're as great as you think you are, mister High-and-mighty…" he muttered.

Suddenly Shaun felt a strong arm around his waist, drawing him closer towards the couch again. Everything was blurry, but he could still make out Desmond's face, the brown eyes glowing as he looked up. What made him gulp wasn't the look that Desmond seemed to give him – he was sure it was the stare that he was expecting – but were his face was. He hated himself for his imagination as he felt blood rushing south. But he simply couldn't prevent himself from thinking about Desmond leaning further in…

"BUT…"

He was freaking glad that Desmond pulled him out of his thoughts. Otherwise he'd have to life through at least a week of teasing from Desmond…

"But you being a freaking… strategy guide for Pokemon doesn't mean that you're the best at playing EVERY game…" Desmond all but purred at him, making Shaun shiver, "I'm just thinking about a game in which I'm much better than you, Hastings…"

With that, the zipper of his pants was pulled down.

The historian shuddered as hot breath ghosted over his skin. His hands found their way into Desmond's short hair almost immediately. The assassin chuckled, his voice low.

Shaun already knew: It wouldn't take Desmond very long to convince him that he was indeed better when it came to… certain games.

But he truly didn't feel the need to change anything about it. It was already enough to be a "strategy guide" when it came to video games. He was quite satisfied with Desmond being the superior at this kind of games…
