no no. they are all Japanese students but I couldn't put the comic entirely in Japanese because then my English speaking viewers wouldn't be able to read it. And I also could not write it, since my Japanese is poor. You just should assume that if speech is not in quotes, it is being spoken in Japanese. In quotes, is spoken in English. 

Satoshi is from America so he is poor at Japanese but can speak English fluently. 

Misty is from Japan but she can speak some English because of her foreign nationality. Her sisters speak English fluently as international celebrities. Misty however never really tried very hard to pick it up as she hasn't really left Japan. She can understand it mostly well. But she cannot speak it very well. 

So no, this is not an English class. They are simply a normal Japanese class in a Japanese elementary school in Japan. And Satoshi is speaking English to Misty since he figures that she's a foreigner as well.

Why did you redraw this doujinshi?
Are you going to update it soon?
Why is Ash acting like a jerk?
Why is he even here when he barely speak jap?
And...yeah, how old are they again?

Also, I noticed that you're using Ash's original name but You didn't use Misty's original name, is there a reason for that?

I've already written about some of this before. But let me see if I can answer them again, clear up some confusion.

i redrew this comic because the original is several years old now. I started it when I was still in high school. I had never been in Japan before but it was set in a Japanese elementary school. I have since come to Japan and taught in a few different elementary and junior high schools. I want to reboot the comic with my new knowledge and new art style.

i just updated a new page just a few days ago. Each page takes a lot of effort. I'll update as soon as I have the time. I'm not a full time mangaka after all. In fact, I don't even get paid for this. I have a day job.

to find out why Satoshi is acting like a jerk, you'll have to keep reading. He has a reason that will be explained in due time.

satoshi's backstory is fairly complex and also currently a secret. I can't tell you. You will have to read more to find out why he's in Japan. I will say his father is Japanese, but I can't add anything more than that.

yes, there is. But it's also kind of a secret. Misty is a foreigner who grew up in Japan, so she has an English name. Her family is originally from Europe but Misty has spent most of her life in Japan since that's where her sisters decided to live most of the time.

Satoshi is American of Japanese descent. Strictly speaking he is half Japanese, half American. his mother is an American woman and Satoshi spent most of his life with her. Technically Satoshi has two names. He is going by Satoshi now though for reasons I can't explain. You'll have to read on to find out.

Oh I should add that Misty's book is technically supposed to be in Japanese. I was just too lazy to write it that way. I probably should have at least put Teddy Bear in Katakana. Oooooh well. That was my goof.

But yes they are Japanese students. But this is not an English class. Only Satoshi and Misty can speak English. Maaaaaybe the teacher. A bit.
