Description
So this picture which at first was just suppose to portray Hale and Saladin in their usual night-time martial arts practice (She sucks, so she needs pointers from her own Lucario D8), changed to become a mess of characters, lighting and elements.Team Callahan taking respite in a cave for the night as Hale and Saladin do their thing, Artagnan (Gallade) and Desdemona (Glameow) enjoy the nightsky, Delacroix (Floatzel) falls asleep in the midsts of reading 'Brave New World' with Gilgamesh (Nidoking) and Faust (Charizard) internally debates the merits of eliminating the Lucario's political position on top of the team heap by eating him.
Night sky was ridiculous fun to do, as was the shading for the characters. Fire was interesting to render too, but you can tell I got lazy by the time texturing came about and just slapped some random rocky picture set on overlay over the cave area XDXD
Ngghhhhh textures...*hisses and backs away*

Don't worry too much about the complexity of lighting---it's always a trial and error process. You definitely can pull it off with your skills (I didn't know how to do this sort of thing a month or so ago, mind you...)
Yeah, someone has to lead XDXD Inevitably, that someone will usually be the Lucario on the team. There's just something leader-ish about them. I assume Antonio carries the same role?
And LOL. More reasons for El Mosh and Fausto to plot together

If you're using a mouse, Photoshop's Pen Tool is your best friend, It might take a while to get used to and it's quite painstaking, but it produces very crisp lines for a pixel-based program
If you're using a tablet and are good at it, a Dry Media brush with pressure sensitivity is the way to go.
Back when I used to draw traditionally, you do a first stage lineart and the second stage where you modify the thickness of the lines as needed.

Her team isn't that lethal XDXD They're mostly glass cannon actually--heavy on the attacks, low on defenses, but they do what they can to kick ass

OwO I'm very honored you like it yes. Trust me, the lighting was a bitch to handle, but fun, I'll have to admit. Trial and error all over the place XDXD
I was never really a big fan of Lucarios before this, but drawing Saladin now's become something of a second nature--he's probably the easiest of the team asides DeeDee for me to render regularly. And psssssshh Hale isn't THAT awesome X3 She's full of SUPA SRS BIZNIS in fact. Your character is so much more fun

Gil's the team nerd despite what his size and muscle mass seems to suggest. And yes--anything smaller than Faust, he considers as possible lunch material (As a Charmander, he killed and ate a Nidoran which poisoned him almost to the point of cardiac arrest, and then while half-dead, tried to murder Hale so he could eat her Glameow). Except his own trainer of course, but that's another story all together XDXD
