Well I must say that out of most people that comment you seem to catch on to what Im trying to express in these photographs veryyyyyyyyy well, wow. As for the trees, they are extremely old and have been there for quite some time.. To catch something like this in Miami was something quite odd to see.. They do remind me of SC and NC..Ive always loved old houses with big trees outfront and white picket fences, etc etc.. Im still in love with the old world.. Thanks again for your wonderful feedback

Last Spring, I spent a weekend with a couple of friends of mine at one of their houses about 45 minutes away from Charleston, SC. I'll always remember it as a time of overwhelming, much-needed peace. And the above scene just reminds me so much of that place...
It's also just a beautiful piece. There's nothing like those old (or even young), twisted trees that somehow just seem like they've been through so much, led such interesting lives and yet experienced such hurt. It's wild how you can look in a person's face and just know that one of those trees lingers just beyond the surface. And you've framed them so well, captured so much of their shadows and their souls. And I really like the house on the right, reminding us that it isn't a fantasy, that it's within reach...
But, I'm rambling. Thank you for the vivid memory, and the beautiful work. Well done!

page registered at 1.1 megabytes - and worth it. Great detail- the shot reminds me of the song 'shady grove' by jerry garcia..

I love the rich summer greens in this, it really is a beautiful setting - lovely 'twisty' trees too. A perfect place for all the things you suggested and a few more besides.

What I would give to go there and sit under that tree with a notebook and pen, without any worries or concerns, for a single day . . .
:sigh:

Sometimes you can come into contact with these places by chance and theyve been there all along..just like people who come into our lives in different ways we never planned. Im sure you can find your place if you keep your eyes open.
