Here we have a duality that I unfortunately overlooked when doing the Mighty Morphin wave. Trini Kwan as played by Audri Dubois in the original pilot. She actually asked me if I'd be willing to do one. But yeah I found a few head shots, and overall it was not that hard. I think this was one of the easier ones.

Probably the same. But when you have one of your characters go from a tomboy kind of street smart latina which she was in the pilot, to a character ruled by her sense of honor, was there to relay techno babble, and was essential the most useless member of the team, it's a definable brain teaser.
Bottom line, I think the series may have been equally as popular with Audri because she brought a polar opposite female dynamic to the series, which Thuy unfortunately did not in relation to Amy's Kimberly. I would have liked to get to know Audri's Trini like we did Thuy's.
But e got what we got, and Thuy did an amazing job with the character she was given, and I don't fault her with Trini being plain, I blame the writer's of a 90's kid show who had so little imagination to stray from a status quo that worked for 60 episodes at the time.

Trini wasn't a plain character or a useless team member. She was regal, poise, calm, spiritual, peaceful, wise, levelheaded, beautiful, book-smart and athletic. Not to mention she was a kung fu expert and environmentalist. Just because her personality wasn't "loud" and "in your face" like Billy, Zack and Kim's doesn't mean she's boring. You can't expect every single character to be dramatic, comedic, energetic and over the top. Jason and Adam aren't like that at all and everyone loves them, Trini's the exact same way yet everybody gives her grief. Her personality was subtle, that's all. When you really take the time to look into it, you'll find she actually has more personality than Tommy and she's definitely a more useful team member than Kimberly. In fact, she was the most balanced of the team, very intelligent but capable of kicking butt.

Valid points. I still say though she was misused. She should have gotten a few more episodes to do stuff alone. Like the prayign Mantis episode. That one was great, and High Five. Those episodes showed she could carry an episode, and most episodes had her just sitting/standing in the background spouting words of wisdom. It just felt wasted after 60 episodes.
