With half a million crew members it think it rates more of a first rate gargantuan battle-metropolis, not a mere frigate (which are traditionally lightweight vessels between a cruiser and destroyer in size). I wonder how the Adeptus Administratium approved the funding of this frigate? must have had some incredible earmarks in that spending bill. Or probably just irrational xenophobia.

Heheheheh, well, Warhammer 40.000 ships are more akin to small self-contained worlds than naval vessels... 500.000 people is quite a small population for the kind of spacecraft they have... this people are also working as priests, techpriests, mechanic attendants for in-ship factories, weapons operators, farmers, workers at recycling plants, merchants, security officers...
And also the Administratum usually works with huge numbers, more like "This planetary tithe have some dozen million trained starship crew... well, we have to build some ships big enough to put everyone inside and throw against some heretics or xenos before they get too old... or worse... reproduce and become some hundred millions more..." XD

Sounds like a lot of water reclamation, and long lines at the latrines...

Very nice but with that massive crew compliment wouldn't she be a cruiser rather than frigate?

Well, it was a Black Ship originally, and have plenty of space for crew, but it's drive, shields, guns and maneuverability are compatible with a frigate...
But of course, it's a very "pimped out" ship, almost a heresy to the Omnisiah

I know that this may be original by thought, but I keep thinking that its the USG ISHIMURA, in a more Ole English or Medieval in France. But I really like it.
