In which Linus has to go through the tedious job of figuring out Utara's handicap.It's quite a long process - the horse must be weighed, then after estimating the weight range the handicap should be, the horse must then be manually tried out over a small jump with the new handicap.
The perfect handicap weight is one that the Lompat struggles with a bit during the initial test. After awhile, they will get used to the weight, and they will stop feeling heavy.
The weights rang from 1.0(1kg weights on the front legs) to 2.2(2kg weights on both the front and back legs). Mares generally only carry 1.0-2.0 handicaps.
After evaluation, we found Utara was found to be a 2.1 handicapper.
NOTE: If anybody else wants to be able to enter their Lompat into competitions, they will have to go through the evaluation process(ie: you must draw a picture of your Lompat being evaluated. This can be shown through weighing, the jump test or inspection of the legs.)

I had this iea, of holding a "minor breed" competition- for all these lesser known breeds... CardHorses, Cabarets, Carolina Trotters, ScarfHorses, etc etc... that way people would see them more, and maybe they'd be better known...

Yeah, but no one would join. I think you or someone else who's liked and popular would have to hold it- because no one looks at my page anyway, and the amount of people who have minor breed horses is probably small enough...
So I'd be willing to organize it, but I think someone else would have to actually hold it to get a decent amount of participants and for it to actually serve it's purpose...

Question;
Does this particular handicapping process only apply to Type A Lompats or to them all? (That was something I'm still a little confused about, because Type B Lompats don't have the same crazy jumping than Type A's 'cause of the selective breeding and all, right?)

Handicapping is only necessary for Lompats with the Jump. Some type Bs have it, but it's unlikely

Oh I feel a little abd for these horses. if I had one I could see it freaking out and being really really ticked at the handicap lol

Nah, it's actually quite normal for them - it's like shoeing a normal horse - they are a bit confused about the extra weight at first, but they soon get used to it. After awhile, it becomes as normal asa saddle.

I know that just the fact they can't jump to their full potentil in a contest. It'd be pretty cool to see a show horse jump as high as these guys can

Yeah, they do have an event specialised for them, called Extreme Jump. It's like an obstacle course they have to make their way through as fast as possible :]
