"What's wrong?" James asked. "Afriad of a simle cup of coffee?" Scarlet glared at James, turned and sipped the beverage again, this time forcing herself to swallow.

"It's amazing," Jena whispered to James.

"What?" James asked.

"You and Scarlet," Jena replied. "You're able to calm her down when she looks like she would tear you apart."

"I know that she might look it, but I know she would never intentionally hurt me," James said. "She seems to have a soft spot for me. That probably come from her past."

Scarlet finished the coffee, wiped her arm across her face then sat down opposite James and Jena, slinging her feet onto the table ad leaning back.

"So tell me, what's the trouble we need to discuss?" Scarlet asked.
