"I suppose we should get something to eat," Raven said.

"I will get us some cinnamon buns from Frank's Chili Diner," James said, standing up.

"I'll go with you," Scarlet said, standing up beside him.

"All right," James replied. He and Scarlet stepped out of the apartment and walked down the street.

"Something's different about Raven today," James said, half to himself.

"You noticed," Scarlet replid dryly and then added, "Yes, she insists that its nothing, but she should know me better than to take that for an answer."

"Maybe she needs some time alone," James replied, repeating Raven's words from the other night.

"Yeah, sure," Scarlet replied.

"Well, here we are," James said as they reached Frank's Chili Diner. Scarlet and James stepped inside the door.

"I'm sorry, ma'am, but you can't smoke in here," a teenage girl was saying.

"Oh really. What are you going to do about it?" replied a tall woman who pulled a cigarette out of her mouth and blew a puff of smoke into the teenager's face.
