James swallowed and closed his eyes, bracing himself for the end. As Amber raised her saber, a faint glow shone between them. Amber struck down, but a finely made katana locked with her saber. Amber's saber was swung from her hand, and she found herself with the katana blade at her throat.

James opened his eyes to see a young man who seemed to be radiating with a pale yellow light. He was standing between him and Amber, holding a katana.

"Leave this place, now!" the man commanded, and to James's amazment, Amber turned and walked away. The man sheathed his katana in a hidden sheath in his leather coat.

"Are you all right?" the man asked, turning to James, and held out his hand.

"Y-y-yes," James stammered, taking the man's hand. He could feel an aura of power coming from the man before him. "Who are you?"

"I am Christian Bronze," the man answered, hoisting James to his feet.

"Thank you," James breathed.
