Description
I found the concept for this model on google and am using it on my demo reel. I have recently discovered the artist right here on deviant art. While slightly modified, I hope he likes it.Poly-modeled and rendered entirely in XSI.
Composited in fusion.

Cool, how many tris was the High and Low Poly versions and how did you do your muzzle flash effects?

its not an ingame model so its actually 1.7 million tris. Pure poly modeled, so no normal maps (except the crappy base)
The muzzle flash is literally two intersecting grids, and a disc at the barrel so it dosnt look like an "X" shape when seen head on. Just used a texture, transparancy map, and a glow map on a constant material. Then rendered it on a seperate pass for a little more control. I managed to pull that off on the first try, was pretty surprised, thought i was gonna have to resort to particle effects. Painting fire in photoshop was ok, i have some pretty good brushes, in fact it was a series of mud splatter effects in different colours and layers.
thnx for the question mike.

Thanks for the info, Since working on my Bulldog Mech I've been thinking about learning some effects stuff to really spice it up some more.

I really like this. Is it a mecha or a power armor?
