Buzz-Off is a character from the Masters of the Universe franchise, and this is my redesign/reimagining version of him. In my alternate version of Eternia his Real Nameβ’ is Bazaphoros, which the humans have mangled to, well, Buzz-Off.In his original action figure incarnation in the 80's Buzz-Off looked much like a luchador version of the (bumble?)bee man from the Simpsons, but the 2002 Four Horsemen redesign made me realize his real potential. My version unashamedly borrows things like the chitinous skin, digitigrade leg shape and more lithe build from theirs. I think it's good to have some variety in Eternia (in body shapes that is, there is variety in just about everything else already).
My biggest addition is the entirely wasp-based color scheme. I always thought the highly contrasting yellows and almost-black-browns of Buzz-Off were way off of real life bees and way closer to the common wasp (or common yellowjacket if you're from the US). Wasps are more badass warrior types anyway, which fits the good old post-apocalyptic Miniternia-style world of My Canonβ’.

This may be my most favorite MOTU redesign that I've ever seen.Β I was looking for some inspiration for my attempt at a Buzz-Off model for my MOTU series, but...Β this is too perfect.Β I'm going to attempt a CG version straight-upΒ based on this.Β Great stuff.Β I hope you don't mind.Β If it's at all successful, I'll send you the results.Β And of course make it clear that it's based on your design.

You know, I actually had an idea for a female MOTU character called Stingrid, but then I realized the 2002 cartoon had a character called Stingrad who was basically Buzz-Off's second-in-command (sorta) and definitely male, so it didn't work out. The ichneumon-wasp lady is still a worthwile idea though.

I can certainly see a Croenenbergian appeal in a leather-clad alien vixen with a sword like, embryo-implanting set of genitalia!

and, point of order, "yellowjacket" and "wasp" aren't synonymous. In American English, a yellowjackets is a type of wasp.
