Description
I sketched this westernized redesign of Mothra (a.k.a Mosura) to go together with my Godzilla redesign , and I discovered the half-colored version of the scan while going through my files, so I decided to quickly finish it off and post it here as well.

My intention with the redesign was to give Mothra a sleeker speedier look by basing her on a hawk moth, giving her a more fighter plane or jet bomber like shape. The grey lump next to the landed Mothra is supposed to represent a human figure to give you a sense of scale, and the three green bulbous things are Mothra's eggs, making them closer in shape and scale to lepidopteran eggs. The patterns on the wings are maybe too great a departure from the original, but I sketched this on a train trip and it had been a while since I last saw a Mothra film, so threre's no real deeper meaning behind that.
