Description
I sketched this westernized redesign of Mothra (a.k.a Mosura) to go together with my Godzilla redesign , and I discovered the half-colored version of the scan while going through my files, so I decided to quickly finish it off and post it here as well.My intention with the redesign was to give Mothra a sleeker speedier look by basing her on a hawk moth, giving her a more fighter plane or jet bomber like shape. The grey lump next to the landed Mothra is supposed to represent a human figure to give you a sense of scale, and the three green bulbous things are Mothra's eggs, making them closer in shape and scale to lepidopteran eggs. The patterns on the wings are maybe too great a departure from the original, but I sketched this on a train trip and it had been a while since I last saw a Mothra film, so threre's no real deeper meaning behind that.

I love how you did them, but the colors are what really make me love this piece.

Great job at redesigning her!
Rather than having one offspring at a time, it would make sense for her to spawn a benevolent swarm-brood.

A very elegant redesign. It showcases her status as the most beautiful of the Daikaiju, and it's easy to see why the people of Nyujishima/Bayi Pulau/Infant Island worshipped her. However, I'd suggest changing the yellow on her wings to a different colour such as lilac or another pale purple to accentuate her mystical nature.

Is insectosaurus a thing? It sounds like something that is an actual thing.
Anyway, thanks.

I thought it might be something like that. That's one of the Dreamworks CGI movies I haven't seen yet.

It was knda cool, except for the fact that insectosaurus was a) supercute and superhuge at the same time, and it had impossibly small wings XD
