This is amazing dude. Did you use any type of pattern or brush to create the background and floor? It turned out great!

I used several brushes to make all those magic effects and I also used lots of textures to create a more realistic feeling to the metal and the stones.
Sometimes I think I'm cheating with some of those photoshop tricks (specially because I started painting with oils). Anyway...

Right on, very cool. Yeah i understand where you are comin from when you say something about "cheating" with photoshop, but in truth you gotta realize that it does take alot of work to make something badass, no matter which way you go about creating it.

Doesn't matter how I did this one, I never spent so much time doing any other drawing in my life. And I would never do this using oils!!!
I can still see lots of problems but I'm quite pleased with the result.
Last year I didn't know anything about photoshop, and now I do that.

Yeah i basically starting using Photoshop for digitally painting about 6 months ago. Ive created a few pieces,(check them out if youd like) but each one im getting better and better. I just need to sit down and actually do it is the problem, lol, but thats my fault for not taking the free time out to paint. Hey, no problem on the comments man.

Duuude! This is great! I'm sure you can feel you've leveled up.My favourite parts are his face and arm, nice job on the tricky lightning. Used refs much? And the symbol circle feels just like the ones in video games, I can almost feel it spinning slowly. This is a great piece, keep it up.

This piece took me forever to finish! I almost abandoned after a while.
I used a lot less reference then I should. I used mostly for the idea, not for the figure. Big mistake. I'll never do that again. hehe
And, of course, I spent most of the time doing the figure and that irritating cape.
Wanna a piece of serious advice? Don't start putting the details in a figure until you have the whole composition fully established.
Sounds obvious? Then I'm freaking dumb! hehe

Hehe, it looks great, I love the runic symbols they seriously go amazingly well with the concept of the Mage.
The masks are cool too
However what I really love is how you portrayed the motion of the piece with the cape and the magic; it's so flowing and very nicely done.

Thats why I had to slow down my posting flow. But I have to say I'm pretty happy with this one.
Girl, this cape was AMAZINGLY difficult to do. I'm very very glad you noticed, because I regret making it so dark.

That's why I have to be very attentive regarding that issue.
