You could save yourself a whole lot of trouble and everyone elses by creating a small pattern to make the grid and then, IF, you have Photoshop 7 and up, use the Liquify plugin to further warp, bend and mess with the grid pattern.
Just thought I'd pass that along.

a long time ago i made myself a grid psd, its like 12000x12000 as a grid so i can shape it and not worry about quality or anything

Just for future reference, if you have CS2, use the vanishing point tool, hold alt when you click ok, and the grid will be rasterized for you, so you dont have to draw any lines...

already knew how to do this, and you could also just make a grid pattern so you can use the paint bucket and then chop away what you want and then mess with filters. anyway, its a cool tut.
