this piece really gets me because i was raging mad when i heard about changing the name to freedom fries. at first, i was mad at the french (i thought they didn't want us using the word french for anything we made anymore...besides, they make nasty nasty movies...French Twist....dykes...fat...ugh!!!)
anyway, if america wants to screw us all over with trying to remember "oh yeah...freedom, not french", than i'm leaving!
one more thing...the name freedom fry is misleading. eating a fry will not free you. it will get you fat with grease and clog your arteries!!!

I like this deviation and I think that the argument that was going on above should be taken in private and not on this comment page.. I think "limnersphere" had a very good critique on this piece..which we should all read:

"The whole concept of renaming French Fries smacks of back in WWII when we stopped calling cylindrical beef sausage Frankenfurters. It later evolved into what is now called Hot Dogs. I wonder what the fries will later evolve to or if it will change at all.
Conceptwise, it is an interesting presentation. The burnt frie lays on the dollar bill. Purposefully placed on the phrase "In God We Trust". The frie covers up the "In God" so we are left with the "we trust" phrase. The question becomes then, who do you trust?"

Personally I think the french have the right to do what ever they want, The only conty that's been with us on this from the beginning is britan and now a few others are starting to put in alittle more. And you know what I think that is, maybe they think if they don't make us happy we'll fire on them as well. We don't have the right to judge the Iraqy people and their customs. We don't have the fucking right. I mean, isn't that what America stands for anyway, freedom! Yet we wonot let Iraq and France have their own freedom, We are a bunch of fucking hipocrites. I don't care what bullshite they are showing on TV about all the people who love the US soilders and what they are doing. For all we know those people were paid to act that way just to make the American people feel better. There are already rumors that CNN made the US look farther then it really was in the war. How can you trust anything anymore?
And when it comes to weapons... who do you think they got them from in the first place, how else are we going to get oil, do you think america would pay them in hard cash? hell no! it's all about trade, we give them something they need and don't have, and take what we need and have reserves on, but we'll just wait for them to deplete their own so we can menopolize on it.
You know for Korea the damn president said the same fucking thing, "Victory is inevitable", and what happened, We lost, we can't say we won so we lost, nothing was really changed all that happened was that people died and now the US has a few more companys in south Korea. Woopty Doo!
I love the picture, and I'd really love to stick that fry somewhere that the sun doesn't shine when it comes to bush, And I'm not talking about his Beer drinking mouth. Figures After he takes office we get the dirt on him, how much of his campainge fund do you think went into that.
I do agree that something needs to be done so that things like September 11 don't ever happen again, but I don't think this is the way. Not if we piss the whole world off. America wouldn't survive, I think Bush is killing us all.

I know Bush didn't make up freedom fries and i don't have much of an oppinion on this war now that it is started.. i just want my friends to come back home. but for the life of me i can not figure out why some of us americans are sooo freakin mad at the french?! just because they didn't want to go to war too? They are entitled to NOT go to war if we are so entitled TO go to war. next time some one says they hate the french just because of that silly ass reason i'm gonna slap them in the face with a "freedom tickler"

I don't understand why everyone is yelling at the "pro-America" people that this deviation isn't about Bush, so I'll quote from the artist here:

And tech42, that was simply infantile. Ironsheik is often one of the few voices of reason on threads like these, he was only setting the facts straight for everyone, sorry if the facts offend you so much -_-
Anyway, the picture. It's ok, but come one it's a burnt food O_o In any case I don't like the focus near the top, it's obviously another dollar bill because, well, what else would it be, but it still makes the audience force their eyes to see it. I know you were going for creativity with the focus but in my opinion this would be better if the focus was slightly better all around.
And don't blame Bush for something that has nothing to do with him.
