Like pretty much everything else power rangers is no stranger to having potential ideas go unused here I am going to be listing a lot of them
Even before zyuranger was adapted their were several other attempts to bring super sentai to the United States in fact marvel themselves have even tried to do it themselves trying to pitch an adaptation of sun vulcan to hbo with Stan lee personally involved in the attempt other attempts soon followed such as bioman which even had a pilot filmed other adaptations included turbo ranger and Jetman
Before we got the day of the dumpster their was another version filmed with trini played by audri Dubois and hulk as a random mook this version was later shown as the lost episode in 1999
In earlier scripts Tommy was gonna be a dirt bike racer named rocky
In addition jason David frank was originally going to star in vr troopers while brad Hawkins would play the white ranger the roles were swapped because saban decided that Tommy was too popular to be replaced
Dan southworth who played Eric in time force auditioned for Adam
They originally considered killing Tommy off like his sentai counterpart but that idea never left the writers room
Doomsday was originally written as the series finale of mighty morphin power rangers with the rangers sealing away Rita and the villains forever in addition it would’ve also seen the debut of the counterpart to witch bandora’s son from zyuranger makes me wonder how deferent future adaptations would’ve been especially with dairanger and kakuranger
Another idea considered for the finale had the Rangers graduating but Rita crashes the party they even considered having machiko soga fly out to the USA to film scenes with the rangers
The gold ranger from zeo was originally going to be Ryan Steele from vr troopers hence brad doing the voice it was scrapped in favor of the triplets Billy was even considered but David yost declined due to tension behind the scenes
Jdf even said that it’s possible that David true heart could’ve become the gold ranger had Austin St. John declined to return
A spin off based around Aquitar was planned but was scrapped
Rocky was originally played to be the blue turbo ranger but due to failed salary negotiations Steve left and Justin was created in his place
The original mid season finale was called rangers in concert and would’ve involved the rangers fighting a cockroach monster at the end of the episode the blue senturion would’ve been fixed and we would’ve found out that the new red yellow pink and green turbo rangers would’ve been tj(then known as michael) Carlos who’s last name would’ve been Chavez Ashley(then known as missy) and Lieutenant stones niece ashley it was scrapped because the writers were fired before the episode was filmed
In fact only Tommy and kat were supposed to leave with Adam and Tanya staying the latter two leaving came as a surprise to their actors and especially Justin’s actor
None of the cast for turbo were told that they were gonna stay for in space until before it went into production suggesting that at 1 point it was supposed to feature an entirely new cast
When Johnny yong Bosch returned he wanted Adam to die for the fun of it
Justin was originally going to join the rangers in going to space
Rita zedd and Divatox were originally going to die in the finale
Fun fact unrelated to all of this the series being in space was a mistake since material saban had acquired sad that mega ranger was space themed when it was actually video game themed I wonder what would’ve happened had in space been video game themed
Countdown to destruction was originally going to be the finale of the series since turbo’s ratings weren’t doing well the success of in space managed to convince saban to keep the series going it was also going to be a 3 parter it was shorted to 2 parts and many things got cut stuff like andros and Ashley’s kids and the reveal of who the phantom ranger was
