If you play the games, you'll learn that the adult is a really optimistic kid and that the child is actually a 19 year old. Due to a magic accident, the two become a stuffed animal, and a flying mutant egg. They turn into these surreal forms after looking for a locket. While STILL searching for the locket, the two accidentally become humans again. Although this is pleasant, Their ages become mixed up. I hope this gives you a better understanding.
