The gold embroidery is part of the fabric, the additional stripes are appliqued.Β

Thanks for the feedback. Β It really is an absolutely lovely fabric. Β I've been pouring over fabric stores in the Bay Area for the last few weeks looking for just the right fabric for my endeavor.

I love this so much! The full costume is just stunning, especially the small details (like the aiguillettes).
Will it ever get a matching codpiece?

I'm Cassandra, btw. Alexander (the designer) does all his networking through me so lay it on me and I'll do the chit-chat for the both of us. We can do skype too, but we have a crazy schedule this week so skype wouldn't work until at least the weekend.

Astonishing. Looks like it's taken directly out of a museum. I love the colors of the complete costume so much.

This is lovely. I really like how the top is so ornate. Was boning used in it? The fabrics are beautiful, and I love the buttons. (:

No boning was used. All of the structure comes from the layers of fabrics and the cut of the panels. We actually go through the process on our blog [link] Our very first post is the beginning of the process.
