Hmm does the rose in her mouth symbolize her unwillingness/inability to speak and that is why she is being forgotten or ignored? It's a beautiful piece, and it makes me curious.

It has multiple meanings, and yes, I suppose that could be one of them. It symbolizes whatever your mind tells you it symbolizes at that point in time. I find it changes for me, as different experiences create different interpretations of the same image.

I like how 3-D the edges are. If you want to take it another step further, I'd say put in something to make the hair and the rose 3-D. Experiment with it.

Actually, my original intent was to make the rose 3D...but all of my attempts failed, so the material I was using (plus some extra) went to the bottom/edges of the painting.
