so i have been thinking about what you guys said in my last post and i thought 'how would a earth pony with uncontrollable magic look??' so of course there was the wayyyyyy over used glowing eyes and the Sombra like light coming from them and yea thats too over used and too neat for the magic she would use. SO how could i make the magic look as chaotic as possible?? i decided to make it come out the eyes, nose and mouth almost like a glowing form of breath vapor on a really cold day.
She obviously has no horn to channel and to control her magic so instead its like this smoke or steam coming from her eyes, nose and mouth in a messy fashion. Obviously this lead to her being hunted as a 'witch' by unicorns (this takes place in early equestrian/ time of the pony tribes) where magic is something that belongs solely to unicorns and this leads to her being seen as a abomination in their eyes.i dont know what her magic will do yet to make her so dangerous and what she can do with it so that is open for ideas and suggestions same with the over all story and plot.
FYI when making her i was highly inspired by MLP grimdark readings and stories, i absolutely love them. Classics like something sweet to bite, The chronicle of curseword/the lost narrator storys, home sweet home and a fleeting light in the darkness.
So as you guys know in MLP young foals tended to come into their powers very young and their magic is wild and uncontrollable and they tend to shoot it constantly from their horns and cause utter chaos. Same goes for some baby Pegasi who start flying everywhere uncontrollably at a young age like poundcake and flurrie (granted shes a alicorn)And that had me thinking...unicorn foals have a outlet for all that power they have but a Earth pony doesn't have such a outlet at all..so with that in mind thats when a thought came to mind. who is familiar with Fantastic beasts from the Harry potter universe? because in their universe they have what they call obscurus who are magical children (mostly muggle borns) who try to suppress their magic and that leads to them unleashing such magic in powerful and dangerous outbursts when it builds up too much in them and tends to be realized in powerful emotional outbursts however this can also lead to the death of the child. SO that made me think what if the same sort of principle played out here? Astro is a earth pony but with magical abilities but without a horn she has no way of expelling her magic what so ever so it just builds up more and more over times until its expelled in a massive dangerous outbursts through her eyes nose and mouth. I think that if she was given a prosthetic of some kind which can channel her magic then her powers could be controlled and she could learn to use actual spells according to her magical gifts but i doubt the unicorns who are outright pursuing her would give her such a gift. this is the days of the pony tribes so their methods would just to neutralize her or to lock her away.
This is a grim dark story so i doubt would it would start or have many positives moments in it since its supposed to be a more mature story like the Chronicles of curse word is.
