If One Step Beyond has taught me anything, it's that drawing piles of random junk is actually super fun. I never thought I get so much enjoyment out of making a bunch of garbage.
Quite a bit of OSB's aesthetic was inspired by the artwork from the Gorillaz album Plastic Beach. Another inspiration was the garbage dump area of Waterfall from Undertale.

oh wow that's so much detail. i love how the choice of junk items can tell such a story about the world... and your choice of bright and cheerful lighting gives it a very "this is just how it is" sort of appearance. it's really cool.

Yeah, the whole vibe of the OSB setting is sort of "sad, but not super depressing"
And it also brings up a real-world issue that I have never really seen mentioned anywhere: If global warming floods costal cities, what happens to all the stuff in them?

yeah, i haven't seen that talked about, compared to the worry for the millions of refugees that would be escaping the flooded cities. but you're right- it would probably float off into the ocean and join all the other trash.
