In the prehistoric land of Nivaeica, predators of all shapes and sizes have learned to cooperate and forge a complex and thriving society. However as the population grows, so does demand on food... Not only is the number of wild prey animal mysteriously dwindling, but disasters threaten to put the unprepared society over the edge and into chaos...

So I'm finally going for it, I'll be launching a webcomic!

This is in the same universe as "The Shadowtainted" - but the story is brand new. You will see many of the same characters, but they will have different plotlines, goals, designs and personalities (more developed ones, I think!)

So here's what'll happen on launch day!

#1: I will be publishing the first 18 pages of the story in full here on deviantArt! This is a complete prologue-teaser-chapter - and I'm saving up the pages in hopes of hooking you into the story right away - so you get a proper good sense of what this thing will be about!

#2: I will also be launching a patreon-page, where you can support the comic and gain all sorts of special rewards! This Patreon page will be a little basic to begin with, so bear with me - but it should grow in complexity as I work on the comic and hopefully pick up a supporter or two in the process!

Following the launch, I will be updating the comic once per week (1 page). I hope to expand this to 2 pages, eventually - as the story will be quite long, and I'd like to finish it within my lifetime, haha...

I've decided to draw the comic all in black and white - using colour only for cover pages, chapter titles, etc. Like a manga! I still can't help making the backgrounds decently complex and having some nice cell-shading. I try to limit myself in these ways to make it possible for me to stick to my production plan - it's a big undertaking and I can be a bit of a perfectionist if left unchecked. I like focusing on developing the story rather than aesthetics, too - hopefully this will show in the story.

Perhaps a coloured re-make will be possible at some point, but that'll only be way in the future!

I'm very excited to be launching this, it's something I've been wanting to do for a very long time... It's time to start producing, and really putting this story and my dear characters out into the world! I just hope it'll be an interesting read for you guysc

I'm just polishing up the prologue now, and will hopefully have everything nice and ready for launch on the 29th - I hope it'll make a good impression
