This is so very helpful especially for someone like me who only creates straight-on or flat perspectives. Perhaps this will help me try different perspectives. One thing though, neon colors and sometimes the color red really bothers my eyes. I cannot look at the grid for very long.

Hi Panj!!!! First of all and of course i add all this in my perspective collection. In pure photomanipulation very hard explain the perspective because you know in photomanipulation is necessary understand how use the elements in the grid...and if you don't study all the many concepts back the complex world of perspective (horizon, vanishing points etcc) will be impossible start from zero. Because the grid is not a magic or a miracle.... where you can automatically create the work!! the grid don't create the idea/concept/composition! The grid don't add automatically an high skill....!wow id like if it was so easy haha The grid is only a tool, we can aquire only and exclusively studying many topic.

In theory is all easy, but in practice at the begin is a pain in the ass  hahaa it is necessary spit many blood, rivers of blood. hahah I still remember my infinite confusion about how create an enviroment with many elements in perspective, because in photomanipulation is necessary create this illusion of perspective and this is hard understand this concept at the begin. this an old study ---->

If i want add a road in a work, i have if necessary rebuild the road to follow the perspective.....I mean the foreground can't have the same size of the background......So i had rebuilt from zero the road in 3 section...to match with the perspective of the environment. How can you explain these things for the mass of people?? hahah wow a torture!!! As always im writing all this for people don't know all these things.

The best part of this your tutorial is for sure this ----->   where people can at least begin to see how all this works because the concept is explained by the arrows...but the speach don't change about that wrote before! The best to start of course is the study of one point perspective and gradually in the months start to go beyond to assimilate all good.

In 7 months i was studying in depth this world because it is important to evolve because you understand the mechanism you can create all you want with a logical visual sense and explore new perspective. But this require study....

In my opionion you panj should explain this because you got influence. Why important??? Because is important not create illusion in people....I mean in 1 day is impossible became an "architect"....

Last April i was studying to learn how create a grid useful for a specific style of work because the people must to know grid are personal and are linked to our idea and specific work. Spitting tons and tons of blood i had learned to create ---------> I was talking with Erik about this following grid some month agoo It was useful to create a work still in progress. But of course i had modified my grid to work with my work Barbanera for me and only for me was a precious work to learn 1 bunch of things to discover important mechanisms of perspective above all relative 2 points perspective.

Of i got also many WIP like this partial following and the grid is useful but only because i studied the concepts. Well here is summer.....hot summer...like egyptian summer ahhaha so all is slow to stay on some work. Im writing all this to say of course i was thinking to create a little tutorial but intense.......but i said...wow.....i calculated it could require hours and hours and hours to write a correct path with concepts. so i had abandoned temporary this idea ahha

Before i wrote i was studying in depth this world because it is important to evolve......You helped me in this personal process! How??  I had always in mind to study perspective but with the use of hundred resources (It was really wrong) i had forgot!! With your work i said it was time to stop to use 1000000 resources and begin to study for real the perspective concepts because my works without perspective were wrong and visually static....and because i understood is possible create always a cool work but with the right number of resources.

Hey Luke, I'm glad if you add this perspective to your collection,
but for those who start the work with sketches, a grid is very helpful in giving rise to ideas / compositions and concepts that they want.
and you're right, understanding the shape of an object is very important to get the right accuracy. Then it needs an understanding of the 3D point of view of a photo object, and this is not something that can learned quickly, to overcome that I always imagined the position of the photographer when photographing the object.

a box will look different in shape if viewed from a different side.
maybe it's just this simple understanding that I have.

from the sample you provided
understanding of object patterns is the main point, and you are right to do it to make it from zero, but these patterns are something that can only be explained and understood by the eyes, so explanations with words must be very confusing. haha
so when asked about the detailed explanation I didn't have it, haha
for me this can only be explained by eyes.

for works with a number of resources, for me when resources have many collections, surely I will use them all, but if the resources are small, I will use what I think is important.

so I never thought that using a lot of resources would be better or vice versa. but I think the quality of resources is important. if there are lots of resources that have quality and are in accordance with my concept, I definitely use it all, but if not, I only use it a few.

and i love your grid

I have an old concept that isn't ready yet, and it looks like your grid matches my concept

and i add helpfull for those people are studying these concepts

You wrote a box will look different in shape if viewed from a different side. and you touched the heart of perspective guide applied in photomanipulation and this is also the point why is hard explain all this in photomanipulation.

On the Net there are infinite tutorials about perspective but relative drawing..So it is necessary study these rules to adapt the in photomanip....In photomanipulation where a photomanipulator like me use only static images.....if i want move the static image in the space...like your example of boxes....i can't do!!! it don't change perspective like a miracle...but i will obliged to discover another image with the right perspective for my idea/work.

The static image of course don't follow perspective and so don't change proportion gradually like the example of the road background-middleground-foreground!! In drawing this aspect is of course "easy" because the author drawing correctly like the example of boxes. To reasume convert drawing rules in static images related photomanip. for me has been really hard understand the mechanism! Well if you use 2 images no problem....but im talking to build a complex enviroment.

Well of course ok when you start to understand the mechanism, the work become more fluid! Personally to do exercises i had used many references because the theory

is completely different by the practice! Im writing this for people amatorial like me who want start to study and don't know how do practice in photomanip. Because we can't use drawing...but we can learn how compose a scene with the help of the grid.

and yes for you this can only be explained by eyes because you know the mechanism back. In the time for example i understood in reality there isn't a rule to build a grid. I saw people creating unconventional specific personal grids  useful for them in that specific moment. This was so cool! They said the important thing is always create a correct perspective, few important what tec. you use.

hahah the monument of books cool!! This use of this specific grid....show well how you have understood the mechanism. You used it to create a fish eye effect, in photography used to capture a wide area and this of course create a visual distortion. Of course i never thought to use this grid to create this type of effect and i can only learn from this. To learn this grid i had used it, into a medieval enviroment that i hope to complete. but now thanks you i know another point of view. The first thought has gone to a potential sci-fi work on space.

Well im not like those people think to go forward alone. I think always on this world there are always people with an experience better than us and to go forward is necessary share informations and aquire others experiences.

I hope to see it finished early

Well in reality actually im interested to build a personal list of checks more detailed and refined because it was time to refine the tonal life....an aspect many times, im honest like always, i had not treated.
