Description
And since i am such a good narcisistic b*tch... I had to make another drawing (Actually two) of myself.Me on Bundeswehr Kampfanzug on desert flecktarn. Holding the already well know G-36A/AG-36. I love how it turned out. I applied perspective to it and looks pretty realistic or at least it looks amazingly good to me. Gotta make rifles and weapons more like this one
And the other guy on luftwaffe fluganzug is... YES!!! You are right! It's me again!!!
And my favourite aircraft up there... The EF2000 (Which i obtained using the vector strategy)
The soldier and pilots are two different linearts that i combined together.
I will also use the pilot lineart for a 171st introduction image of myself so you can expect at least 1 more work about myself and then I'll go back to the planned projects (Which I should update since I thought about some cool ideas recently).
Well... Another drawing that is the kitchen geting cooked is a JSDF drawing which won't have the usual massive presence of details (Specially Air assets) and I'll make it simple with just 1 JGSDF soldier firing his Type-96 rifle but this one will be special since I'm drawing it using perspectice on the body so I can get a far better and more eye-catching drawing. But that will take a while since I'm busy (I think I've mentioned that like 30.000 times)
Well... enjoy people.

Insert Panther tank joke here.
...You know, since its actual designation was Panzer V...

Ehhhr I don't get the joke.
It's probably because Panther aside from being the animal's name, it's the name of a very specific tank line in the german army. While Panzer is just the german word for armor/tank.

Well, the Panther tank of World War II was designated Panzerkampfwagen V.

Too bad you guys have this unsavory problem with the G36.

Aye indeed. A replacement is in order. Been reading the German Army might replace the G-36s with HK416s. Those appear to be more reliable.
In the meanwhile it would also seem the new Machine gun from Heckler & Koch, the MG5, is also having a lot of issues with reliability.
German defence industry quality is starting to lack seriously.

"German defence industry quality is starting to lack seriously."
Talk about it. In France, we once had several successful gun-making companies, too.
Now, there is just the PGM company, a small firm that makes the HΓ©cate anti-material rifle.
It's a shame to see that our countries were, not so long ago, holders of world-wide acknowledged expertise in the making of quality and reliable guns,
while they are now a shadow of their former selves.

I wouldn't say a shadow just yet but the European Defence Industry has allowed itself to be contaminated by the usual industrial practice of making low quality stuff in order to promote upgrade programs, replacements, etc.
The G-36 scandal for example may have tarnished H&K's name when it somes to quality. But as the German Bundeswehr seeks a replacement, H&K may end up getting a whole new sales deal worth billions. Either upgraded G-36s or maybe HK416s under the designation G-38.
So yeah...
Gotta love the industry.

Oh god, does the U.S need a replacement. We've been using the AR platform for too long, and they're doing the same thing the European Defence Industry has, by the sound of things.

Why fix if not broken? When it comes down to infantry firearm power, the enemy is not really getting any modern any time soon. Heck, bloody STG-44s are still in use in the Syrian Civil War and they're from the second world war.
A replacement is EXACTLY what the industry would want because that would mean: R&D, prototype manufacturing, test trials and if all goes right; mass production of a weapons system that will likely be significantly more expensive that the weapon it is replacing.
Again... why fix if not broken?
It's kinda the same problem with the A-10 being replaced by the F-35A in the Close Air Support role. Except the A-10 is much better at that than the F-35 could be.

I see your point. It's just the thing is that Colt seems to be going down the same path that HK has, by the sound of things.

So, if I understand you well, they would make low quality weapons just so they could sell more spare parts, wouldn't they?
That would mean extra costs for the Defence Budgets, which is, ultimately, bad for the States AND the gun-making companies. Because, as I understand it, the latter don't have interests in having poorer customers.
Upgraded G-36s? That would be good, indeed. In the first place, the G-36 shouldn't have been designed with plastic-like materials for the gun's parts that are supposed to steady the barrel.
I'm surprised the Bundeswehr hasn't yet demanded for the G36 design to be accordingly modified.
Do you think the G3, whether in 7,62 NATO or in a 5,56 version, would be considered as a suitable replacement, even as a stop-gap one?

AND all these makes me want to do versions of myself, but I can't.
All I can do is describe my alternates by words... I can't draw...

Hehe well. Anyone can draw. Being good at it requires practice. Sometimes a lot but without it you get nowhere.

Ha! Independence Day.
Will Smith plays the role Of Captain Steven Hiller and this quote is from right after he manages to force crash an alien spaceship right after ejecting from his F-18 Hornet. That scene is just the win.
