Description As requested by

A small group of polish soldiers are pin down on the rough streets of *Enter Middle Eastern city name here* fighting against the MEC.

Two soldiers are using the Kbs wz. 1996 Beryl rifle with EOTechs (Note that because of my ignorance about these laser sights I forgot to draw the damn laser pointers ) and a third one is firing a PKM.
The Kbs wz. 1996 Beryl is a derivate of the Kalashnikov series but it has been designed specifically to fire the NATO 5.56 mm round. The PKM is a soviet made machinegun. The Polish forces still use a large variety of russian weaponry but they're currently being phased out by equipments developed and produced in Poland and other stuff made outside Poland mostly from NATO members.

So.... I did hurry coloring this pic Polishtrooper didn't specify exactly how should have their request look like so I decided to try new stuff here (My drawing skills are constant Work-in-Progress ) I tried again to make a cool scene with multiple bodies. I also wanted to aply a close-range perspective to the first soldier you see but I went short about it. I think this picture is pretty good. One thing I would have liked to change from the lineart was the background. But on second thoughts I'm glad I didn't overwhelm the picture with an extremely detailed background.

Some things I want to try in the future are drawings that focus not only on one side (Like this picture does) but I want to go further into drawing general combat scenes where you can see both sides or an angle of combat in which you don't get to see easily who is who (Which is a situation that often happens in war). Hmmm... But since the request was about having polish soldiers then it was pretty obvious that the picture had to be more focused on the polish soldiers (Duh! ).

In this picture I used a variety of special brushes for photoshop. I used "Distressed", "Grunge and dirt", "Gravel and sand" and "Bullet holes" (Great tool I must add) brushes from
I also used a wood brush (Not highly noticeable) on the wood boards in front of that door. That brush is from
The lovely camouflage I applied to all the soldiers was made using some photos as reference. There is a brush pack from which I used to generate what I hope is an accurate camouflage pattern currently in use with the Polish Land forces.

Well... there ain't much to add now. I'll take a day or two from having to worry on any further projects and then I will start working on the colors of Polishtrooper second request.
Once that is done (And I promise it's one of my most kickass drawings ) I'll work on some pending projects like... well... had tagged me to do a Nyu's art meme so I will get into finally doing one (And that way I can practice some funny expressions ) and tagged me for an Female-Self meme recently. So I think it's time to put into practice my humor
I don't promise I'll make from that a high quality work but I'll put my best effort on it

I'll get to all your comments, replies, deviations and journals as soon as possible.

Until then... See'ya in the Battlefield!

Well I use for small drawing the A3 and for even smaller ones an A4.
Nevah A5... I have no use for it
Now the big sheets I'll be working are more or less like 2 A-3s put right next to each other. Big enough for nice details.

oh.. ok xD never considered A3 as small... to me, it's HUGE! I usually use A4, and am currently using A5 because that's the size of the notebook I have to draw during classes xD although, at the start, I used it for taking notes, before I had all notebooks, but as every notebook that my hands touch, it later became a place to draw, until all of its pages become filled with doodles and scribbles. :3

Well I used to draw in A4s.... then to A3s and now.... well... bigger sheets I don't know if I should call them A2s
The thing is that I have problem drawing highly detailed objects in a small space

I like teeny little details :3 that way, they won't be seen that easily, and I can hide the eventual crap I've made XD besides, when I try to draw in a large scale, th draw usually comes out horrible >.<

This is crazily amazing!!! O: The lighting in this pic is wonderful from the gun fire, and the scene looks quite epic. I certainly see no detailed flaws here, or maybe it's cause I'm staring so much X3 great job and hope to see more.

Thank you very much

I'll try to make even more dinamic and detailed scenes in the future.

MrCorruptedData In reply to Panzerfire [2008-09-29 16:36:42 +0000 UTC]

oh that would be so awesome to see too o: by the way, do you do requests of such scenes?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Panzerfire In reply to MrCorruptedData [2008-09-29 19:05:54 +0000 UTC]

Well this work was a request although Polishtrooper didn't actually gave me any directives of how should the pic be. He simply said (Not literally): I want to see poles. The rest is purely my invention.

Now if you want to make a request you are free to do so (just send me a note) but... I can't promise that it'll be finished soon. Hell this request was made well over a month ago.. I think almost two months ago. And now I plan to work on some meme works and back to my own projects. So it would take a long while.

MrCorruptedData In reply to Panzerfire [2008-09-29 20:11:23 +0000 UTC]

well, honestly better than nothing right? XD one last thing, are you able to draw furries? o: or just humans, I can find a request either way, just would like to know :3

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Panzerfire In reply to MrCorruptedData [2008-10-05 13:10:11 +0000 UTC]

Hmmmm well.... Furries ain't my speciality
But I guess it's just a change in face like replacing the shape of the nose, adding hears, tail. Can't be that dificul does it?
But I still prefer to draw humans.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

MrCorruptedData In reply to Panzerfire [2008-10-06 19:08:37 +0000 UTC]

certainly |3 well if it won't be too hard, I'll go with the furries. If not and you think it will be too difficult to handle a battleground of furries, it would probably be best if I stick to a human thing.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Panzerfire In reply to MrCorruptedData [2008-10-08 12:21:55 +0000 UTC]

well.... If I don't try I don't know
You can make the request but it'll take a long while.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

MrCorruptedData In reply to Panzerfire [2008-10-10 16:40:26 +0000 UTC]

yes so true ^^ well then I'll ask for my request then. I would like a picture of my character Lex Prower [link] [link] [link] to be firing an assault rifle (I am not good at weapons at all |3) while pinned behind a corporate building in what seems like a huge urban setting. You can have other furries beside him (whichever you would like to try and practice with or I can make up a few characters) trying to cover him from possible alleyways or something o: They must all be wearing grey and blue, as they are part of Lex's corporation, probably suits or military attire, your choice as well. I would usually have a lot of detail, but I think I'm not this far in my story as of yet, so it's hard to make up a scene. If you need any thing else however I will still come up with whatever you need.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Panzerfire In reply to MrCorruptedData [2008-10-12 22:16:01 +0000 UTC]

Well I'd appreciate it if you could put all this in a Note that way I can find it back easily without searching trough my journals .

Anyway... I'll see what I can do. Like I said.... Furries ain't my style
And you'll have to be very patient 'coz I got personal projectsplus other requests before working on that.

wowowowwwww... easy there boy
I still got some projects to do first
Like finishing Polishtrooper's 2nd request, drawing and coloring a couple of memes, and then work/practice on some mecha design and drawings.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

hound93 In reply to Panzerfire [2008-09-29 21:45:51 +0000 UTC]

Lol Thats fine, i was only kiddin. U dont have to do the Italians, but it would be something not seen alot. Mecha is hard, trust me. YOu just have to get the feel for the way things would look, and were things would go.

Thanks.

You drew them perfectly - the cammo looks just like the real one, used by our army, weapons look realistic and this atmosphere of gunfight... I can only it.

PS. I wish we replaced all the post-Soviet weapons with Western stuff. At least Polish-built PKMs are fed with 7,62mm NATO bullet.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Panzerfire In reply to RTJDudek [2008-09-29 14:04:12 +0000 UTC]

What I'd like to see is the Land Forces equiped with Kbk wz. 2005 Jantar
That looks like a pretty cool weapon

Oh and I've heard that the Land Forces still use the soviet original version of the PKM along the version that fires the NATO rounds

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

RTJDudek In reply to Panzerfire [2008-09-29 19:36:36 +0000 UTC]

You mentioned original PKMs bought from Russians. It's a small problem, since the NATO bullets don't match 7,62mmx39 versions... xD

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Panzerfire In reply to RTJDudek [2008-10-05 13:04:48 +0000 UTC]

ah then it's ok

It is a big issue in many East European countries when it comes to get rid of their old ammunition standars. And it doesn't make the russians happy 'coz they still got a business to run Well.... there will always be 3rd World nations that'll fire the AKs anytime

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

RTJDudek In reply to Panzerfire [2008-10-05 19:11:12 +0000 UTC]

And Russians have possibilities with having income from tourism and selling resources. Pity they don't want to set up such business... xD

Chukkz In reply to ??? [2008-09-28 11:34:51 +0000 UTC]

I like your actionpacked pictures, they are a very nice contra to the "usual" fantasy or scifi themed works. Also you have a good hand for perspective...

I have two little points though:
1. the gunfire

Looks a little like energy weapons firing instead of projectiles being shot... Maybe try to roughen the effect a bit? Look at some movie photos where you see gunfire like this [link] ... See the edges are jagged? I mean this sort of effect.

2. The shells being cast out of the rifle

Look a little too uniform, Iยดd change the angle of each slightly to make it a little less like if they drift along an invisible rail.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Panzerfire In reply to Chukkz [2008-09-29 14:02:23 +0000 UTC]

I'll try to work on those issues in future projects
