Description
It's been a long time since I did my last Fakemon Brainstorm, my experimental series where I make unconventional Pokemon. I'm breaking that drought today with an idea I had for Wannabe, for which I thought it would be best if I removed it from my Fakedex proper. I've always wanted to do a stat-themed, contest-themed and Power Ranger themed Fakemon. I rolled all those ideas into one in making evolutions for Wannabe.
Wannabe evolves when you train it to have max EV values in a particular stat. The form of Superanger it evolves into depends on which stat is maxed. They are as following:
Superanger Black - HP Stat - Mysterious* - Fighting/Dark
Superanger Red - Attack Stat - Cool - Fighting/Flying
Superanger Yellow - Defence Stat - Tough - Fighting/Rock
Superanger Blue - Special Attack Stat - Beautiful - Fighting/Water
Superanger Pink - Special Defence Stat - Cute - Fighting/Fairy
Superanger Green - Speed Stat - Smart - Fighting/Psychic
*New Contest Type/Attribute
Once evolved the Forms will automatically be holding one of a class of items pictured above which act like an Enhanced Power Item, instead of giving 4 EVs in a particular stat, they give 8 EVs in a particular stat. Not only that, if held by a Pokemon in a contest, it boosts their potential points for that type of contest.
Artist's Notes
I knew I wanted to make a Power Ranger-esque Fakemon line from the start. My first breakthrough was associating each form with a stat, and later a contest type. Which stat and contest type went to each colour was a bit arbitrary and I just assigned them as I thought fit. While designing them I realise the Rangers usually have an animal accociated with them, so i picked examples of animals that fit each role. At the end I realised I hit a bit of a roadblock - Their are six stats and Power Ranger colours, while there are only 5 contest types. So I present a new sixth contest type for our friend the black ranger - Mysterious. Some moves will be retyped to Mysterious and there will be a Mysterious contest. This is all asuming the game these guys would come in would have contests like they did in Generation 3. I even consider them having an alternate Zord form but in the end I couldn't make it work. BTW shoutout to Darksilvania who made an awesome Power Ranger Fakemon made more with the concepts of the interlocking Zords: fav.me/dd6stjr I was done with drawing mine when I saw his works, so there isn't any influence from that in particular.
NB: I thought about giving them very gimmicky stats with all of them being like 50 but the single stat they specialize in but there are too many gimmicky Pokemon, so I settled on maing their respective stat being the only one that is 150.

Flavour Text The different forms of Superanger usually form a team, composed of one of each type. They work together better than they work alone. They have a strong sense of comradery and justice, always seeking to help weak Pokemon whenever they can.

They create an item when evolved? What about if they're already holding one? If you actually plan to use these for something it might be better to have their abilities have a chance of them creating their item after a battle (like Pickup or Honey Gather).
Also, instead of making a new contest type for black you could instead just make it good at all contests instead, as a reference to how the sixth ranger usually joins later and is stronger than the rest.

I don't plan to use them for anything but I would say if they are already holding an item it would not spawn the item.
The contest thing is a good idea, I could have done it that way as well. Fakemon Brainstorms are a one time thing, so I won't bother changing it at this point.

I immediately saw the super sentai references. It's a very recognizable theme to go with and surprisingly underutilized. Originality points for you. Go Go Wannabe!

As of right now, no. I am thinking about opening a limited slot commission space, mostly because I can get overworked easily. I don't do commissions to earn money, mostly just to help out people that would like some work by me, so if I do they will be very cheap.

Yeah, you were right about them not being so Pokémon-like, but I can see some really cool aspects, so don't worry!
They remind me a bit of the rangers that we saw in OR/AS and I love the idea
. Also, I love the stats follow a pattern of same numbers in their distribution and those new objects are really originally done!!
I would like to use them also because I spent a lot of my childhood playing contests XD
