The alternative is to reduce women and girls to the role of livestock animals by telling them they have no right to control their own bodies and lives. It’s more difficult to visually capture the dignity, education, and future that this girl would be throwing away if she was forced to have a child against her will, when she was unprepared to be a mother. I want to know why it is that the men who get these women and girls pregnant are never held accountable for their selfish irresponsibility. I also want to know why more attention is given to aborted fetuses than the over 20,000 children who are already born, who our world allows to die from preventable causes such as disease and malnourishment—every day.
