If only... Not for the first time, thoughts that began like this crossed Tim's mind.
And not for the first time, he thought: If only he hadn't picked a fight with Craig that fateful afternoon three days ago.
Sure, the two were always at loggerheads, but during this Summer Camp, things had heated up pretty quickly, although he now realized the reasons for their fights had been ridiculously unimportant.
But, well, Craig was camp leader, and so he usually had the last word. Which annoyed Tim to no end.
it had annoyed him that Tuesday, too, and he had stormed off and ended up in the woods, stomping around until the anger subsided, sulking und muttering to himself.

That had been, in retrospect, a very bad idea.

What with all his self-pity and sulking, he had, for a moment, forgotten, that on the other side of the woods, Scout Troop 55 had put up THEIR camp, and Scout Troop 55 was the bitter enemy of his own Troop. The confrontations between him and his own camp leader Craig were insignificant compared to the history of raids, theft, fistfights and kidnappings that the two troops had been embroiled in in recent years - or was it decades? Nobody really knew.

In any case, Tim had walked right into the danger zone. They didn't even have to put up a trap for him, as he basically bumped into their backs. All the three hunky scouts had to do was tie and gag him and march him back to their camp as quickly as possible.

Bad enough.

But things had gotten worse.
They would have let him off lightly; their camp leader Scott was in a good mood. A few hours of tickle torture, and the they would have sent him back to his camp who would have paid a decent ransom for him (beer, usually).
But when Scott sent the pictures of poor captured Tim to Craig via WhatsApp, the answer took a) just a few seconds and b) him completely by surprise.

"zero ransom. Tim is a f+kin idiot, you can keep him. do with him want you want, and return him by the end of camp. byeeee."

Well, thought Scott, what else could they do? They had basically been handed a prisoner on a plate.
"Get some more ropes, guys!" he had said.

And that's why Tim found himself now, three days later, still tightly roped up from head to toes, hogtied and gagged and attached to a bench.
Troop 55 had decided to use him for roping practice, and practice they did. From 8 in the morning to 8 in the evening, the scouts trussed him up in endless and increasingly nasty variations of restraint.

They would return in a few minutes, after their lunch break, to experiment on some hogtie variations, Scott had announced.
Tim just hoped they would untie him in the evening. Maybe even let him get some decent sleep after his last two nights which he spend mummified in a sleeping bag and tied to a pole, respectively.

He would make his concerns known to them, he decided.
Sure, the three massive socks the filled his mouth cavity and were tightly sealed in place with 20 layers of industrial-grade duct tape prevented him from voicing any concern, or anything else, at the moment, but they would have to un-gag him at some point.
