Description Ch.1
The Soldier

Buzz, buzz. "Hello?" asked a girl's voice from a cell phone.
"Hay, Ember.  It's Leo and Killer.  We got the pack freaks that escaped the facility. They were easier to catch than you thought. So what do you want us to do with them?" replied the caller known as Leo.
"I'll send an extraction team to pick you and the targets up, so stay put and don't you dare harm them anymore then you already have. I want the chance to beat the crap out of that damn snow leopard for what she did to my arm," ordered Ember, her voice booming with anticipation for revenge.
"Sure thing.  We'll wait here for pickup," said Leo, ending the call
Leo and Killer walked out of the shadows and into the moonlight to reveal that Leo was, in fact, part lion. The hair on his head was a mated heap of a lion's mane. His nails were sharp claws that looked like they could cleave flesh for bone with one strike. He had emerald green cat eyes that burned through the night. On the other hand, Leo's comrade, Killer, was part Rottweiler with a fully formed muzzle, rippling muscles, and a look in his eyes that screamed 'back off or you're dead meat'.
"How long until pickup?" asked Killer with boredom in his voice.
"An hour at best," answered Leo leaning on the tree to his right.
"Then why don't we have some fun with these two ladies while we wait?" replied Killer with a sinister smirk on his face looking down at the two unconscious girls. One was a hybrid of gray wolf with canine ears on either side of her head; her hands & feet were wolf paws, and to top it all off, she had a tail. The other girl was a pale red-head with snow leopard ears crowning her head, a tail, and a snow leopard fur pattern all over her body.
"Oh no, you heard what Ember said. She'll flay us for sure if we are caught," said Leo with fear in his voice.
"Like you said, we got an hour and besides, Ember's not going to notice how badly damaged her prize is from the fight. Right?" replied Killer with a sly grin on his face. All the while Leo rested his chin in his hand/paw thinking over Killer's words, until the same grin was on his face.  Just as the two started walking toward their prey, a massive beam of purple energy blasted Killer ten feet away.
"That was just a warning. Next shot won't be." called a voice from the top of the hill. There stood the figure of a man clad in body armor glowing with vein-like designs all over greenish organic looking metal. His right arm was a canon, and it was pulsating purple energy. The shockwave for Killer's impact was enough to wake the two girls.
"Rrrr! You'll pay for that!" growled Leo in rage.
"Your funeral, Simba," mocked the armored man shifting his right arm from a canon to a hand. Leo charged at the man with fury swipes of his claws. The man sidestepped Leo's charge and elbowed him in the back of the head. Leo quickly turned around to face the man, but was met with an ironclad punch to the face. The man followed through by grabbing the back of Leo's head, pulled him down, kneed Leo in the gut, and hammered his left elbow at the base of Leo's neck. Then tossed the unconscious Leo into the crater where Killer was residing. The two girls were in shock from utter astonishment at the deadly portion in which he alone was able to beat down both Killer and Leo. The man walked down the hill to where the girls were sitting, but the girls eyes were still fixed in the aftermath of the fight to notice.
"You ladies alright?" asked the man, his voice heavy with concern for them, but at the mere sound of his voice, both girls jumped and let out a scream that awakened the rest of the group.
"Those wounds look serious. Better get them cleaned out and bandage up before they get infected," said the man before walking back up the hill and returning with a massive make shift backpack.  The backpack was made up of eight separate army style backpacks that looked as if they were filled to the brim with everything an army needs to survive in a dense forest environment. The man reached into one of the packs and pulled out a first aid kit.
"Alright now, let's see about treating those wounds."
(The Center for Teen Testing AKA Beast Project HQ)
A girl with blood-red dragon wings and a large scar on her right arm that looked as if some wild animal bit it and tore it away from her arm was sitting in an office waiting room with a mixed look of concern and fear on her face.
"He's ready to see you now," said the receptionist.   The girl stood up and walked to the door on the right of the reception desk.
"You wanted to see me, sir?" asked the girl after entering the office with an obvious tone of distress in her voice. The room was dimly lit with a book shelf to the far right, a huge oak desk in the middle of the room with three small chairs in front of it, and to the far left was a man staring out the window.
"Ah, yes Ember.  Please have a seat," said the man gesturing to one of the small chairs with his right hand, than taking his seat behind the desk.
"I'm very disappointed at your lack of progress. Instead of retrieving escaped projects, more projects seem to be escaping and heading for the first batch that escaped, so I'm having trouble seeing if the job is getting done?!!" said the man with anger in his voice.
"I understand, sir, but Leo and Killer just caught them, and…" the man cut her off in mid-sentence.
"I just got word from the extraction team.  When they got there, they didn't find the escaped projects. You want to know what they found? They found that both Leo and Killer had the LIVING CRAP BEATEN OUT OF THEM!" said the man enraged.
"It's obvious to me now that you are incapable of completing this simple task on your own. I never wanted to do this, but if I want to capture that runaway freak show, I'll have to make a deal with the devil."
  (Back at the hill)
The group heard the extraction team approach, so they retreated to the nearby tree line and waited for them to leave.
"Are they going to be okay?" asked the snow leopard girl.
"They'll be unconscious until next week and won't remember a damn thing from the past two days, but yeah, they'll be okay," replied the man
"Serves them right for hurting my women. Here Wolf, let me band your wounds," said a boy, with bat ears and wings and wearing standard night vision goggles, floating over to the girl he referred to as Wolf until she punched the bat boy to the ground.
"You touch me and you're the one who'll need those bandages!" said Wolf in a frustration.
"They always like this?" asked the man.
"Every day, but Batty just won't leave Wolf alone," answered a very small girl with red skin, leathered wings, a tail like a demon's, and blazing green eyes that glowed like hellfire. There were others in the group. Three boys, one had scales instead of skin and reptilian eyes, one wore a long green coat and his eyes were like that of a jackal's, and the last boy looked normal with blond hair and blue eyes, but he stared at the man with a distrusting look that could have been read as an intent to kill. The man knew that this boy would be trouble.
"Alright, so who's in charge here?" asked the man in a tone that could have inspired an army to join his side and fight.
"I am, and who are you? The tin man?" commanded the trouble boy standing up and getting right in the man's face as if defending his divine right to lead, before collapsing in pain from his wounds.
"I am a Special Operative of the United States Military. Code named Warzone.  I am relieving you of command effective immediately," announced Warzone as if speaking to an entire army regiment.
"WHAT THE CRAP? YOU show up out of nowhere, beat the crap out of two Beast Project thugs, and you think we're going to take orders from some DAMN GORILLA IN A TIN CAN?" shouted the trouble boy enraged, and if he wasn't wounded, he would have tackled and ripped Warzone's head off.
"Lessen Vincent, you've done a good job until now, and I commend you for it, but a true leader knows when to step down for the good of those that follow him," replied Warzone in an understanding voice that seemed to have been where Vincent is now.
"What the hell?  How did you know my real name?" asked Vincent in a concerned and almost frightened voice.
"Oh, I probably should have told you why I'm here. You see the military has been watching a hacker who has a bad habit of sticking his mouse where it doesn't belong. That's when he hacked into the computers at the Center for Teen Testing and found out what they were really doing, and the Joint Chiefs sent me to put an end to it and make sure no one ever finds out about it," said Warzone with conviction in his voice.
"So where does that leave us?" asked Wolf
"In truth, my orders concerning you guys were merely to retrieve and secure until my primary mission is complete, but what I do with you until then is up to me," answered Warzone.
"Great, so what do you plan to do with us, sir?" asked Vincent sarcastically.
"You want payback for what those Frankenstein-want-to-bes did to you, right? Well, I'm going to give you the chance to get it," answered Warzone in a sly tone.
"Ah, hell yeah, now you're talking, so what's the plan, tin man?" asked Vincent in an eager voice.
"There'll be plenty of time for that later, but first of all, I need to get you battle ready," answered Warzone in a stern voice.
"Wait, what are you talking about?" asked the demon girl.
"You guys need to learn how to fight because I can't fight an army and babysit you guys at the same time," answered Warzone with a little frustration in his voice.
"What? Babysit? We can take care of ourselves," replied Vincent in a fit of rage.
"Huh, like how you took care of Fido and Tabby, right?" said Warzone with doubt in his voice.
"I could have handled them if you hadn't shown up?" replied Vincent with a tone of aggression as if Warzone had threatened his life.
"Lessen, the bad guys have stepped up their game, and if you want payback, you'll have to step up your game a hell of a lot more to give it, and starting tomorrow, I'm going to teach you guys how to fight and how to stay alive in a war, cause guess what, you're in one."
(Unknown location in New York City)
A man in a hooded jet black-lab coat with blood red trim and buttons, his face completely over shadowed in the hood so only the blood red lenses of his sunglasses showed, gauntlets on his hands, and armed boots worked at a control panel with a glowing red hologram that displayed complex mathematical equations and generator schematics in three-D.
"Sir, you have a call from ----," announced a computer voice.
"Tell him I'm busy and have no time to help him with the little details of genetic manipulation," said the man with a tone of extreme frustration in his voice
"I'm sorry sir, but he said it was urgent, and he won't take no for an answer," replied the computer voice.
"Fine, put the decried old buzzard online!" ordered the man with even a more frustrated tone in his voice. Immediately, the hologram that displayed all the mathematical equations and generator schematics were replaced with a life-sized holographic image of the man in the office sitting at his desk.
"Well, if it isn't the good ---- what could such a high noble American hero want with a devil such as me?" asked the man in the coat and giving a sarcastic salute.
"Mastermind, some of the Beast Projects have escaped and despite my best efforts, they have avoided capture and …. I need your help," said the man.
"I knew this would happen, and if you had let me run the Center, this would never have happen," said the Mastermind in a very smug tone of delight.
"The price you were asking was too high of a cost for what I could have afforded and owe me for Area-51. If it wasn't for me, you never would have been able to raid the place, so now I'm cashing it in!" said the man with aggression.
"Very well.  I will capture your escaped lab vermin, but I do not want you to interfere or intervene.  I want unrestricted access to all projects and the freedom to modify them as I see fit, and when all is said and done, I want all data and research material you have thus far as compensation for the time and effort of this endeavor. Understood?" replied Mastermind in a menacing tone.
"Deal!"
