Description In the beginning there was two powers in the universe. Primus the embodiment of creation and Unicron the embodiment of destruction. At first the two were caught in a seemingly endless dance. Whatever Primus created Uicron would eventually destroy, keeping the universe in a state of emptiness. Primus sought to end this cycle and confronted Unicron. Thus, the endless war between them began. Primus created the thirteen Primes to deliver a decisive victory over Unicorn. Defeated, Unicron retreat to a reality of the dead and grew stronger there. With dromion over the dead Unicron struck back with a vengeance. Primus knew his thirteen Primes could never stand against Unicron’s new found might alone. To that end, Primus created legions of powerful knights for the Primes to command, and mighty titans to carry them into battle. Through great hardships, losses, and betrayals, Unicron fell dormant. Cast out to the farthest point in the universe. At the end of it all Primus fell silent. Too weak to guide his creations into the future. Primus transformed his own body into a world for them to call home, the planet Cybertron. Unfortunately,  without Primus. The surviving Primes could find little common ground, and their infighting grew into the first Cybertronain war. Eventually the Primes and their knights left Cybertron, aboard the Titans to find their own worlds to rule. Only one Prime stayed on Cybertron out of loyalty to Primus. Onyx Prime the original beast. His rule gave rise to the Predacons’ dominion of Cybertron. For eons these mighty beasts ruled Cybertron and defended Primus as he slept. For a time, all was at peace. Then one day the Quintessons came to Cybertron. Capturing and enslaving millions of the noble Predacons for their empire. To brake the Predacons’ sprite and to insure there would be no retaliation from the rest of their race. The Quintessons scorched Cybertron, killing the remaining Predacons in an event that would become known as the great cataclysm. In time, some of the knights would return to Cybertron, and lay the foundations of what would be known as the golden age.

I would recommend reading the Covenant of Primus if you haven't already read it. It's a great book, filling in so many gaps in history left by the other shows, mostly sticking to the TFP storyline. For the most part I go by it's history.

I have a few differences in how I see a few parts of the story here. Along with Onyx, Alpha Trion remained to document history in the Covenant. The mystery Prime, Thirteen, also stayed, rebuilt as a common Cybertronian and living among them. Quintus Prime left Cybertron with a mission to create neighbors for the new Cybertronian civilization, so he created the Quintessons. However, his creations turned on their creator and killed Quintus, before setting sights on Cybertron.

I also think the Cataclysm that killed off the Predacons happened long before the Quintessons arrived on Cybertron.
I've heard the Knights stories several times but I haven't really added them in my own headcanon yet.

But of course I'm not trying to put down how you see the storyline. It's interesting to see all the differences.

I understand and you have some good ideas.

One thing I'm not big on is having Alpha Trion as one of the Thirteen. Don't get me wrong, I see him as important figure. Just not as a prime. Understanding the Covenant of Primus is somthing I doubt one of the Thirteen would have trouble with. I see him as having once been a knight, maybe even a knight lord. In my headcanon knight lords are the right hands of the Primes. Their first lieutenants and second in commands of each one of the Thirteen forces.

I see your point. One thing that always confused me about the knights is in some stories where they seemed to replace the Thirteen altogether, and never had an explained history (like in Bayverse). I like the relationship you gave between the Primes and the knights; it's a very good idea.

Thank you. Primes have always been leaders and I've always felt that the Thirteen could not have defeated Unicron alone. So having the primes as the leaders of knights and titans seemed to be the best way of connecting them.

I also have some ideas about how Primus created them and how Transformers duplicate the process to continue the species, if you're interested.

I've always preferred the Well of AllSparks explanation, with how all Transformers originate from the planet Core, or the ones on the colonies. I can accept the Forge and Cold Constuction theories explained in the comics as well, but I never particularly liked the sparkling headcanon. Biological reproduction with Transformers never made sense to me.

Well aside from the budding ability to create the protoforms this idea is mostly my own. I see all the life giving artifacts as being components of Primus. The allspark is his own life force that he shares to give life, Vector Sigma is his brain that he uses to give sentience to his creations, and Cypertorn itself is his body to give his creations a home to live on.

One to three transformers can supply the need components to make a new transformer. I a sense giving a transformer a total of three parents. One gives the protoform containing CNA, another the base code for sentience, and then finally an ember from the parent's spark to ignite the new transformer's own spark of life.

What do you think? This idea has been in my head for a long time, but I could never figure out where protoforms came form until I learned about the Budding ability from the comics.

The third parents role makes sense, but what about the other two? How do they know how to do that?

Sometimes they can be built, but of course you would need those essential organs like the t-cog and the brain module. Was the budding ability the name of the process blacksmith's help with? I feel like I've heard of it but I don't remember it exactly.

The budding ability is an asexual method of reproduction in the older comics. In which a new transformer would just simply be spawned form an older one. I just used that idea to explain how a protoform is created(because nowhere in the show was that ever explained). Giving all the necessary bio-mechanics. It is from there that up to two transformers gives the last two components. One downloads the base code for sentience form their brain module, and the other ignites the new transformer's spark of life with an ember from its own spark. A protoform is basically lifeless without a spark, and life without sentience is just a wild animal. So three components are essential. One transformer alone or up to three can give all the components for body, mind, and soul/spark.
