Description
Provence, Cote d'AzurThis one is a bit of prequel or follow up to the " Back Roads and Summer skies from last month". There is something incredibly refreshing for me to draw these types of warm summer days in Provence. I wonder what it is....?

This is so beautiful, it gives me such joy when I look and think about it. I had two dreams that give me the same joyous summery feeling as this :^)

Lovely! The flowers and the vibrant colors give the image a wonderful feeling of promise and peace. Reminds of "The Promise Of the World" from the movie "Howl's Moving Castle": [link] The song is in Japanese (which means I don't understand a word of it, haha) but I think it's beautiful nonetheless.

Really? That is funny! Do your kids like it? I saw it for the first time last weekend...that was also the first Miyazaki movie I've ever seen.

the fact that you're in provence?
i wish i could travel. right now, it's a bit out of the question. one day though, i will be healthy enough to go.
not sure where i'll start, but it will be a trip to go down in the books!
again, a perfect moment. i get to live vicariously. i took french solely so i could go to france... unfortunately, languages... not my thing. i'm great at parroting... not so good at the remembering...
but this is... stunning. everything about it. and traveling on a bike, i think the only thing missing is a guitar playing in the background (there always needs to be an impromptu guitar playing moment whenever traveling on bikes or blue trucks with large backs fit for bikes and a guitar. those are the traveling rules. i don't make them up
as always, thank you for letting me live vicariously, pascal. beautiful, wonderful, magical, perfect.
thank you,
as always, love to you and yours
~hillary
and don't forget: one year!

i was there for a summer! well, the summer going into my senior year, i took classes at berkeley... i nearly didn't go back to trinity (small liberal arts college in hartford, CT.)
it was so beautiful, the BART system was so clean and easy to understand. everyone was so wonderful and happy. there wasn't a single thing i disliked about berkeley/san fran. everything was great. i even got into long boarding there. that was difficult to mail back... i'm terrible, but i have a good time and every time i take it out, well, it rests against the wall by my bed, so it always reminds me of one of my favorite places, anyway, every time i take it out to soar around (i'm a skier, not a snowboarder... so getting used to a board was... well i didn't have any fear, which scared my friend, who was from hawaii and was a surfer, long boarder, skate boarder, and anything with a board...er
it made him quite nervous.
but whenever i take it out to soar around at slow speeds, it makes me feel like i'm make in northern CA. one of my favorite places in the US

I love your use of foreground, middle ground and background here. Gorgeously composed. And great summery colour as well!

Mal du pays ? Vous ne devez pas รชtre si mal lotis en Californie... (enfin c'est l'impression que รงa me fait, d'autant que tu dis que ce n'est pas dรฉsertique chez vous)
En tout cas รงa fait bien envie !

This has such a nice mood ahhh, I love how you communicate atmosphere in your art! It's like, you can feel the sunny day just looking at it The colours are so bright and happy and the broad landscape makes a really nice composition, which the shadows from the clouds really add to!
Inspiring work!

Is this a place I can actually go? Can you give me the Google map?

You can't google this place exactly, I made it up...BUT... it is based on Provence, where I grew up. Just google Provence and you should have plenty of great shots of the area
